This film actually had a very deep, compelling, and emotional story that was cleverly hidden beneath chaotic action sequences.
The real reason this movie gets such bad reviews is because the average movie goer (and just about all movie critics) don't understand or want deep, compelling, and emotional stories, they want violence, CGI, nudity, and popular music (i.e. things that stimulate the pleasure center of the brain, not the thinking sectors).
Oh don't pull that crap. It was not deep or great or emotional at all because it failed at EVERY CHANCE to make it that.
That's why it needed to be 2 desperate movies. One about a [censored] trying to escape her prison, and being constantly lorded over by a pimp. And another about mindless bullcrap shooting and killing.
No, there was no depth. Only a shallow illusion.
Edit: Its even more hilarious and destructive to your own argument that the movie had nearly all of
violence, CGI, nudity, and popular music.
It was just missing the nudity (and it had scantily clad women abounds).
