Swap an object for a different object of the same kind?

Is there an easier way to replace an object, say a creature or a leveled creature list, with a different object of the same kind? Right now, the only way it looks to me like it can be done, is to drag the new object into the cell, hand place it on top of the old one, and then delete the old one... there isn't a way to select the existing one, and then choose a different base object reference? So, just in case its still not clear what I'm trying to do, here is a specific example:

There is an instance of the leveled creature list "LL1UndeadBossLvl100" in the Fanacasecul cell... I want to select that object, and change it in place to be an instance of a new creature leveled list I have created. I don't want to have to delete it, then pull my object in, hand place my object, and then delete the old one... I just want my new object of the same type to go replace the object that is already there exactly where it already was. I'm really hoping this is possible, because I'm planning to do thousands of edits...

I am using the CSE, but I'm not seeing any option to do this. Is this not possible?

Thank you very much, I didn't think of it as a "search" and replace, I was thinking of a "click" and replace feature, so I didn't find it on my own... but a search and replace is actually much much better. Thanks again!
