I swear that if the story goes like this...

I would be disappointed, but ultimately I wouldn't really care.

I did notice a similarity in the starting plot, and I was a little bit displeased about that. But I doubt that Bethesda will repeat the cult thing. I think it's most likely the separatists that killed him.

Well...from one of the videos i heard somenting about "Dragon Cult" or "Dragon cultists"...i dont quite remember.
So you can be right. But personally i think if there will be some "evil cult" involved...well that would be cool.

You might be thinking of the Dragon Priest. Thousands of years ago, the Nords worshipped the dragons.

Ok so we all know the king was assassinated but I swear that if some cliched evil cult did it, then I won't even bother with this game, and I have a bad feeling Bethesda is too lazy to get a different plot, in morrowind and oblivion there was an evil cult involved, as well as other rpg's like neverwinter nights AND neverwinter nights 2. I don't mind if the assassin was part of group, but I really don't want another cult trying to summon a daedric god. I dunno who should be the assassin, but I was thinking something like Alduin in human form doing it or even the PC doing it would be a much cooler plot twist. No I havent finished morrowind, but I recall an evil cult.

So please bethesda, we know Skyrim will have great graphics and gameplay but you better pay attention to story.

Then don't bother with the game,i couldn't care less.
And another empty threat......you'll buy the game.

Was Ob's story any good? No. Was FO3's story any good? No.

Did we love both of them to death? Yes.

no.

I assume you are a fan of Morrowind. I've never played that game, but assume it's stories arc is not quite up to par with highly acclaimed literature.

There are so many complainers about Skyrim its crazy, everyone wanted another TES they get it and they don't like it. Bethesday is hardly anything but lazy, and if you don't like what the game has to offer who said you HAVE to buy it, just don't buy it and then there is no problem.

People just complain because the sprinkles on their ice cream aren't the right color.

Whats this we [censored]?
Oblivion was clear to the point and I saw very few flaws same with Morrowind
But I did see a few flaws with Fallout 3 that New Vegas fixed such as:
Better Variety of Weapons and Weapon Mods
Way better story in New Vegas ( Lonesome Road will be "EPIC" in my mind)

At least if it's Mythic Dawn we'll have motivation to kill.

"[censored] BETHESDA-" [battleaxetoface] "-CAN'T GET A DECENT PLOT TO SAVE THEIR LIVES-" [FUS RO DA] "-DIE MYTHIC DAWN DIE!"

 OKAY...okay... im good I won't laugh anymore -_- .... :lmao:

Oblivion was the first TES game to use a cult for a main protagonist... anyway That "confirmed" Dragon cult was actually a LONG dead group like in that leaked demo vid we never saw B) The Dragon priest.
I think it is much more likely the King was killed by a Jarl so he could sieze power, but he will die by my blade, because it was indirectly his fault that I was about to be executed :toughninja:

You do know what protagonist means right?

Ok, Bethesda are known to have pretty weak storywriting and character creating abilities. Fallout 3's (most recent work) was passable, i thought it was ok but nothing that i'll remember as being special.

Good job the success of the game isn't based on the story then.

Newsflash: Bethesda does not give two [censored] about story, realistic characters or interesting dialogue.

They do exploration, politics, and atmosphere.

EDIT: Story, realistic characters and interesting/entertaining dialogue are Obsidian's shtick.

I prefer gameplay with some story sprinkled on top. Now, since the past few sprinkles have been Sean Bean and Max von Sydow, I'm pleased. Or senseless.
It's kind of the whole raison d'etre for The Elder Scrolls. A world in which the player can do everything, with just enough plot so that she has something to do.

While having a good story isn't always bad, it's more appreciated, Bethesda is more talented working with open worlds than stories... js.
