I swear I will never..... again!

What are some OCD or borderline OCD things you do that you have vowed to quit or have recently quit in Skyrim?

Mine: I will never pick up and carry around notes or miscalleneous journals I find that are not quest locked. I had a dozen fliers I picked up for the Windhelm butcher and stored away for Pete's sake! No more! They will be left behind, sold or dropped at the earliest opportunity. My new character doesn't believe in 'clutter'.

I keep telling myself I won't pick every damn flower I see on the road, but to no avail...the only way I can keep myself from doing that is by travelling everywhere on horseback.

every time i start a new character, i just go into automatic bandit hunting mode, i'll pick off all the bandit hideouts in whiterun hold before i do anything else,

its so annoying, but i feel like i have to do it :(

i want to be free dammit!

I used to hog all sorts of ingredients for potions. Once had over a hundred hanging moss and bear claws. However, I have learned to limit myself with no more than 10 ingredients. I was surprised to see how much weight the ingredients actually had.

Depends on the character for me. My last two characters, which had Teldryn Sero as a follower, went straight to Windhelm so they could go to Solstheim and hire him. My stealth characters go straight to Windhelm to start the Innocence Lost quest...my mages go straight to the College of Winterhold, etc.

Hey, did you know there is a place where you can get over 400 chaurus eggs and over 100 glowing mushrooms. I dare you to go there and pick only 20. :-P

I confess to hoarding the actual potions vs reagents.

My char can't contain himself the the second he acquires a bunch of useful reagents on the road.

Must also confess TGM has been my BFF because of this

Just a general note. If a piece of reading material is not quest locked (And I don't know of any except some journals) then they need to be gotten rid of. This includes miscallaneous journals. They will be sold if not notably important. My first character had a chest full of journals in my Hearthfire home along with his nearly full library. No More! This addiction shall be broken!

I can't help but kill every bandit I see.

Which is why paladin is one of my favorite class types.

And I always pick every ingriediant i see.

I always go into every ruin.

Killing bandits isn't a problem, it's a solution. Really, given that ,realistically speaking, most bandits are or were army deserters, which explains their outstanding supplies (Fresh food, heavy armor and fine steel weapons? Somebody's bankrolling these scum) and given just what bandits do to people, clearing them out is not only a service to Skyrim, it's a bevy of good deeds.

I have to keep my characters with no interest in alchemy from hording reagents. Works of course when someone dies, they can be covered in an appropriate flower.

Anymore, I can't leave Riverwood until I've cleared out Embershard Mine, Bleak Falls Barrow and killed the Hired Thugs that spawn because I had to butcher the woman at Ansine's Cabin. I also need a full set of Steel Armor and have at least a 30 in Smithing. This might just be good management and something I shouldn't strive to fix, but sometime I'd like to be able to leave the damn tutorial village because I feel anxious that I just saw a [censored] DRAGON getting ready to wreck the whole damn country.

Mine would be bugs. It started with my Khajiit characters cause you know their cats and cats like to chase small things :D But then I found that you don't need to chase the bugs down, if you're a good enough shot with a bow you can pick em off. Now EVERY character that I make ends up bug hunting :bonk:

Another one, same as you Arnathorn. I tend to keep every note / journal I happen across. Mostly it's because I want to keep the memory that the note/journal finding situation made. For example.....Up around the mountains of Markarth ( I believe ) there is a little camp with a cave bare guarding the camp along with 2 corpses. If you kill the bear and snoop around you will find a note and a journal detailing the becomings of the pair, they where a young couple in love and because of the of the disapproval of the parents involved they decided to make a life of their own.

Now if you put 2 & 2 together you can figure that the bear was attracted by the smell of the camp fire one night and the young lovers died defending the camp. This is why I tend to keep those notes and journals, to keep the memory of those who died alive. At least I will remember them.....

I've really got to stop obsessing about how my character looks. One minute i'll think my character looks like a complete badass, and the next his chin and or eyes or nose will bother me and really interferes with my roleplaying sometimes.

I know there is the face sculptor but i like my characters to look perfect from the start. Ugh, one night i restarded a new game over 5 times after taking a look at my character when safely inside the keep after the alduin attack, just because his nose was too fat, his chin was too long/short, or his eyes made him look like he had a stroke. Eventually i was satisfied but now and then something will still bug me about his appearance.

I feel your pain Carrots. Same thing with the journal I found in the Mountains of Eastmarch, an old Dwemer ruin. Talks about a Dunmer party that was trying to find their way into Skyrim by finding an old Dwemer Road under the mountains. My Bosmer kept it for sentimental reasons... my Nord will sell it. :D
