Swedish Gamereactor magazine - New Skyrim article

I'm especially interested to see how a conversation plays out if a guard/enemy comes after you while we're already talking to someone. I wonder if we'll even be able to start a conversation during certain circumstances.

Maybe they can integrate resisting arrest, in that if you whack him with an axe or run away you'll be attacked!

I think it's going to be very very very different from Oblivion.
It's well-known Oblivion's environments, dungeons (well basically everything) lacked of a unique and truly detailed touch, and there were never really any hidden things. Fin Fleam was pretty much the only secret in the water in entire Oblivion. Rest was just sand and rocks, and a slaughterfish every mile or so.

Also, caves could be hidden by having them in places which are very hard to notice or reach. Ships could be sunk or behind some island far away, which you can't see from shore. There are tons and tons of possibilites.

If you're referring to compass icons, I personally think they're gone or at least optional now.

yeah im sure theyre goin with more uniqueness, specially after seeing how well FO3 enviorments were done. and as for hidden places umm fallout 3 rockopolis was an interesting one to find (its just too bad it was small), so hopefully they grow on that idea of hippen places.

I mean I hope it's different, but I'm just not going to get my hopes up. Just by them having Fin Gleam in Oblivion they could say the exact same thing, "there's hidden stuff to find underwater".

Also, caves could be hidden by having them in places which are very hard to notice or reach. Ships could be sunk or behind some island far away, which you can't see from shore. There are tons and tons of possibilites.

But this is completely destroyed by the fact that a map marker would pop up. (if they are in) I remember in FO3 there was a cave that was buried into rocks, and I would've never noticed it but a map marker popped up and told me exactly where it was.

If you're referring to compass icons, I personally think they're gone or at least optional now.

Not just the compass, but on the map. It's too early to tell now if they're gone, but with the system they're going with (an even more GPS-like map) it doesn't seem like they'll be going away anytime soon.

Yea, Todd also said we'll see glacier dungeons, which could very well be hidden.

I can't wait to find the dungeon in a glacier, sounds so awesome!

Concerning the map you're talking about: I never experienced that in FO3. Could be very simply be solved by adding the map marker closer to the location.
Still, I think things will be able to be hidden. Bethesda isn't stupid :)

And I think it's 99,99% safe to assume that it won't be just a Fin Gleam in Skyrim.
Not when all the reviewers have said that it's the most detailed game world they've ever seen :P

They could do hidden caves like they did in Fallout: New Vegas. There were some places that just didn't show up on the map and you had to stumble upon them. Even after you entered them, they didn't show up on your map. Unfortunately none of them were really that great or interesting, so there was no real great feeling of discovering a lost treasure. I think it goes back to the design principles of today where all the really good content should be accessible to everyone.

They'd also need to have some kind of flag to prevent those hidden dungeons from being used by Radiant Story.

Edit: Changed Radiant AI to Radiant Story.

Hopefully they'll be a dungeon like the one in NV with the legendary Deathclaw, with a Dragon instead though.

Secrets in the water = Aqua Pancakes?

My guess is... treasures, sunken ruins, hidden entrances to dungeons or other stuff... (like in Morrowind) or... secret sea monsters? :P

I wonder what treasure we could find underwater maybe something like.

A newspaper cliping inside a treasure chest

I remember in Morrowind. Found a shipwreck far away. Was excited to see what was in it. When I entered, it was just full of pillows...

Another shipwreck in Morrowind had a key in it, but I never figured out where it lead to during my 6 different plays of Morrowinds, lol.

Looking forward to stumbling upon shipwrecks and other hidden locations again! Oblivion's underwater locations were quite lacking in this department.

If someone can clear this up for me, I'd very much appreciate it.

The way we can combine spells now, does that mean that,

If I have a fire spell in one hand and a frost spell in the other, when both cast will it turn to water

or

You can just use both at the same time?

Thanks.

Hi! :)

6. One might even wonder what "secrets in the water" mean. :)

Rough hands to smooth stone, carving rock instead of bone. in Caldera Markarth?? an artist waits, his masterpiece to create.

Right?!

DirectX 11 Support have already been confirmed to be in by Todd Howard. - He have also said that DirectX 11 features might be implemented later in development, but as of now, it's just for performance.

As for the hidden caves, hidden ships and secrets in the water - I totally agree with you, Oblivion was really lacking those features, and I'm really happy that we'll see more of it in Skyrim! :D

Yes, I also remember DirectX 11 to be confirmed, but there has been a lot of people saying otherwise.

8. Gamereactor has before named Skyrim as "the hottest game of the year". This still stands, and the writer ends the article saying that Skyrim will be something extraordinary.

Hahahahaha
Nice pun.

You can just cast both at the same time. They do NOT combine, as far as we have heard.

I think the original post should be edited for clarity in this regard. Using two different spells at the same time is not the same thing as combining those spells.

Man, I can't wait to cast really powerful spells in people's homes and send all of their furniture and items flying across the room, only for them to walk up to me and say "Hey, careful!" as they did in Oblivion.
