SweetFX - graphics improvement

Post » Wed Mar 12, 2014 12:28 am

A graphics will be cool to have and might work well in PVE zones. If ZOS has a HD texture mod and have 200+ on the screen in the PVP zone, a computer might lag or crashed. One will need a super high end system for that case. I have an high end system, I like high res better (4800x900) then a HD texture. I can run one or the other, but not both.

There was another thread on this a few weeks ago. The person went so far as to email support. I think I remember correctly that sweetfx will be supported. And it doesn't inject or replace textures. It's just playing with shader settings and contrast. There was another poster who tested on pts with it and even had thier sweetfx profile up for downloading on the beta forums. I think it's going to be okay.

Texture packs usually replace the file for an object with a different file to display, so for instance, all mailboxes would then appear to be trees (there's more to it than that, but you get my point). This goes much deeper into the code of your client than something like SweetFX does as it is just adjusting total display values (contrast and saturation it seems) and not concerned with what individual objects are being displayed on the screen.

I am interested in it, but I want word from a ZOS web site for it is OK to use. I do not want to risk a ban for a mod.

I'm well aware what texture packs do, I'm just pointing out it's to bad they wont work with ESO because people will abuse it for gathering, chest, pvping and probably more that I can't think of right now.
