Ahh, this thread, reminds me, I had a question about this mod of yours SWG.

In the http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/images/21960-5-1248987737.jpg screens the sky looks rather green. Is this an effect built in to your skies, or is this part of the INI Tweak that goes with it?

It's an .ini tweak. Unfortunately, it's a setting that was left out of the "Reset to Vanilla" MINI template, so it won't revert unless you backed up your Morrowind.ini file.

Here are the original foggy weather color settings, if you want them:

[Weather Foggy]
Sky Sunrise Color=197,190,180
Sky Day Color=184,211,228
Sky Sunset Color=142,159,176
Sky Night Color=018,023,028
Fog Sunrise Color=173,164,148
Fog Day Color=150,187,209
Fog Sunset Color=113,135,157
Fog Night Color=019,024,029
Ambient Sunrise Color=048,043,037
Ambient Day Color=092,109,120
Ambient Sunset Color=029,053,076
Ambient Night Color=028,033,039
Sun Sunrise Color=177,162,137
Sun Day Color=111,131,151
Sun Sunset Color=125,157,189
Sun Night Color=081,100,119
Sun Disc Sunset Color=223,223,223

Yeah, I like SWG's skies, but I don't much care for the .ini tweaks. The green fog actually sort of reminds me of Superman 64 >.>

Anyways, let me know if you want the rest of the original settings.

Any word on a new version, SWG?

For v4 though, I had some ideas for giving Morrowind a particle powered weather system, distant clouds, ashstorms looming in the distance, etc...

I really am curious as to why the "optional" sky textures aren't the ones you actually used. Care to shed some light on that one?

They were the first ones I made, I made some new ones after that and since they were in the primary screenshots I decided to put them in the main folder, I liked the other ones so I stuck them in the optionals bin. Not much to it really.

Ah, ok.

What caught my attention most was that the "optional" clear and cloudy skies were... well, clear and cloudy. And both of your main ones look pretty much the same.

The original ones? Look on PES.

The optional ones? The main screenshot for this mod on my mod list is the "optional" cloudy skies.

In my game the night skies are all chopped up so I'm assuming I need to download the night sky fix for this mod. My question is, how do I do that? I found the file on 2shared.com but I don't see a download link anywhere on the page so I have no idea how to actually get the file. :^( Am I missing something, or can somebody upload the file somewhere else?

One question: is it possible to get this working with Morrowind only? The sky_night_01.nif file causes the game to crash (Morrowind only). Can this file be modified to work with Morrowind? Is the problem with the .nif itself, or in the way the game interacts with the .nif? Suggestions or solutions?

And no, I am not spending 2$ for Bloodmoon, as Morrowind is more enjoyable without the two expansions.

Thank you,

Virkhus

I... what? How is the content that's unaffected by the additional content more enjoyable without the additional content?

On http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=Mods.Detail&id=7066 there's a download "sky_night_02.html" that is a fixed night sky mesh. It redirects to some file hosting site like Rapidshare or something. Have you downloaded and installed that?

And yeah, with just using the vanilla game you're missing out on some cracking mods that require the expansions' script extensions (amongst other things).

Yes, I have downloaded the fix. I appreciate the suggestion, however, its the sky_night_01.nif, not the 02.nif which is the problem. Something about it is not interacting well with vanilla Morrowind. I could modify it with milkshape, however, I don't know what needs to be changed, Also, I am willing/able to modify other files with a hex editor if neccessary.

Is there some way for Morrowind to generate an error log when it crashes? I did not find the option in the morrowind.ini file. Of course, this may just tell me that the 01.nif caused a crash, which I already know.

Lastly, I have played the game with the expansion, yes there are some fantastic mods out there. However, I want to play Morrowind alone, with a few choice mods (this being one of them).

-Assumption- "content is unaffected by the additional content".

Otherwise, why do I like apples when you like oranges?

Why would you even ask that question?

Install the expansions but then disable them in the launcher, so you will be able to use all additional goodies, but the game will remain Morrowind as you know it. Now, do additional goodies worth the $2, that's entirely your decision.

Don't they autoload if a dependant mod is selected? At least, some part of them would have to load to allow them to be functional. Since Morrowind does not appear to have a fractional .esm loader, it would lead to the conclusion that they would be loaded - checked or not. Unless, of course, the problem with the 01.nif is in the .bsa files and not the .esm files - knowing where the error resides is half of the solution.

However, since I don't currently have the expansions, I cannot confirm this.

Ah. That is odd, I'm not aware of any changes that were made to the handling of NIFs between vanilla Morrowind and the release of the expansions. Perplexing.

It might be worth a PM to starwarsguy9875, whilst he's not on the Forums as much as he used to be (I think he has trouble with his PC) a PM might prompt him to check this thread.

Alright, to anyone wanting to use this mod without Bloodmoon, download the patch and rename "sky_night_02.nif" to "sky_night_01.nif" and use it to replace the "sky_night_01.nif" I'd included. That should make the night skies work.
