The wait is over! Version 3 is done, on this update, I have changed many things, now the skies use a modified meshes, which make the textures streach across the whole sky, allowing fully unique skies. I've also remade the night sky using this same method with a texture based on the Dwemer Orrery from Redguard, probably my favourite thing about this mod.

Don't stop yet, there's more! SWG's Skies v3 has new textures for the moons, as well as the particles from rain, blight storms, ash storms, snow, and blizzards.

Plus, a few more things, I've remade my Dwemer Observatory sky texture from v2 with a 2048x2048 one, and, I made a completely new sunglare file.

Ah, almost forgot, using the MorrowINI application to apply, I've made a complete set of INI settings to go with this mod, using them, the sunsets/sunrises will look much prettier, and a lot of other things will be better in appearance.

That's it, download a single RAR file, and you get all that, I assure you, no other mod has done what I've done before, you'll be really treating yourself with this.

NOTE: Other sky retexture mods will not work with this, the modified sky meshes will stretch the textures of other retextures not made to use my meshes.

Congrats on the release SWG, I'll definitely be checking it out very soon! :foodndrink:

To anyone who wants this now, it can be accessed from the Planetelderscrolls FTP server, I'm just waiting for them to add it to the page, as for Nexus, it's uploading, and 64%, but it's a 138 mb file so it might take a bit of time before it's done.

Screenshots are being taken at the moment, I'm going into the game and taking a ton for almost everything, lucily I have a few saves for weather testing, a few other weather types I'm going to have to wait around using set timescale to see, but screenshots will come.

This is great! It's been so rainy all summer where I live - and horribly humid! Maybe I can at least experience a refreshing sunny day in Vvardenfell. :P

Ok this is really annoying, I have tried to upload the file onto Nexus twice and it ended up with a "page not found" near the completion of the upload both times. This may take a while to upload on Nexus.

I just got back from taking a bunch of screenshots, so I should have those uploaded to PES and Nexus soon, can't say the same about the main file on Nexus though...

(at the moment the file has not yet been added to PES, it can now be download from TESNexus)
snip

138 MB!!! This will be the single biggest mod(other than compilations), I have ever downloaded, once it is available for download of course.

Edit: @KINGPIX, nick of time...

First complainer,
two problems here:
1. I can see the borders(rectangle) of the sun glare. An alpha problem(or my eyes are better than superman).
2. Night skies are [censored] up. I am seeing one black patch of sky and random polygons of sky patches.

Confirmed, You can see this in the Nightsky in nifskope as well.

*Admiral Ackbar voice* I have no choice starwarsguy, my graphics card can't read texture sizes of this magnitude!

Had a problem with the textures not showing up, in-game and in NifSkope. After resizing them from 4096x4096 to 2048x2048, the textures are showing up now.

Not everyone has an uber GFX card, might want to add a warning for those that may have this problem as well.

Apart from that I like what I've seen so far, good job.

Yup, night skies are a bit messed up.

I noticed a couple of other things;

Snow skies has a floating black mark, Tx_BM_Sky_Snow.dds

I went to Ald-rhun and the dust storm has weird huge curly things blowing at me, it looks decidedly odd. The texture repeats often and quickly, which I doubt you can change but I think you might be able to make it more subtle by removing the swirly bits and making the texture more cloudy dusty. Also, I never noticed before, but the clouds and banners in Ald-ruhn were moving against the wind of the ash storm, weird.

I am very impressed by the snow texture though the snow comes down slightly heavy and thick, I have not compared it to a blizzard as none turned up while I was looking around. The snow itself is beautiful, I just sat watching it for ages. :D

The rain is another fantastic change, the heavy rain clouds move a little too fast, but they look beautiful and the rain is amazing!

Definitely worth the wait and I hope you can iron out those few problems soon. :)

You know you can console the weather immediately instead of having to wait around using timescale? :slap:

Open console and type:
ChangeWeather "RegionID" short_type_enum
weather type_enum values:
0 Clear
1 Cloudy
2 Foggy
3 Overcast
4 Rain
5 Thunderstorm
6 Ashstorm
7 Blight
8 Snow
9 Blizzard
Best to be in the same region for which you are changing weather - e.g. start in Seyda Neen and use "Bitter Coast Region" for RegionID. ;)

1. I can see the borders (rectangle) of the sun glare.

Yep, it's noticeable right in the http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/images/21960-1-1248988645.jpg too.

Congrats on finally releasing this SWG. :foodndrink: :me goes to dl:

I took some screens of this versus an unmodded Morrowind (grouped in pairs, the first being regular morrowind and the second being SWGs version 3)-

Overall it looks great, but lke its been posted the night skies are a complete mess. The outline along the sun glare I wouldnt have even noticed if it wasnt pointed out. I especially like the cloudy skies personally. Im going to delete the night skies because it isnt currently playable, and Im going to redownload this when its fixed.

I can't do that, my console won't let me type in quotation marks, don't ask.

About the night skies, it should be noted that you need to be running Bloodmoon for it to work properly, I'm not sure about the issues shown, because they work without problems for me, but I'll try to figure it out, I'm really not sure what's causing the issues.

Are the daytime skies working for everyone? I didn't see any issues in the shots zackg posted.

About the sun, I've tried to fix the issue, but I'm really not sure how, it's not that noticeable, but the alphamap isn't what's causing the problem, since it's all black around the edges.

I'm gonna reccomend to anyone trying this out right now not to install the nighttime sky changes or Ashstorm particles (exept for the ash flake texture) until these problems have been solved.

Well I had no idea this was going to happen, I'm using all the meshes in the pack without issues.

Anyways, to all that had issues with the night sky, could you try http://www.2shared.com/file/6922846/3ce2f1b7/sky_night_02.html and report what happens? Some screenshots would be nice too.
