HLSL HDR 2 shader in action creating twinkle effects and sparkles at night. I just want to share it because I believe it's subtle and very nice visually.

I haven't really used your skies before, but I'm kinda wondering-will the night sky be fairly lore-accurate, as in it has all the constellations and such in the right places? Actually, as I seem to recall the constelations are separate Trishapes in the sky mesh, aren't they? Overall, I like the general look of the vanilla night sky-but if what you churn out is higher resolution/higher quality/better-looking, then I think I'd probably use it.

On another note, I've always wanted to see something that'd make sunsets/sunrises look like http://retirees.uwaterloo.ca/~rwwatt/pictures/SunSet.jpg http://image57.webshots.com/657/2/70/17/2121270170082954344IdhJKJ_fs.jpg or http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c18/Pharmacologycoed/Freelance%20Exhibition%20and%20Misc%20work/sunset.jpg. I'm not sure how technically possible that would be with the MW engine, however, since I don't think there's a way to modify the in-game ambient light in such a manner that it would be consistent with such a "look". It may have to wait for OpenMW.

I do agree though that the foggy sky from previous versions needs to change-it looks highly unnatural, and not in the good "well, this is 'another world'," way.

Open your ini. Make a safety copy. Then go to sunrise and sunset weather setting. Play with the numbers.

Sadly, I cannot use that texture anymore because of the mesh edits I made. But the clear skies will keep their Cirrus cloud look.

Oh, and be informed, using this method of UV edit, I've achieved the possibility of increased uniqueness in the sky textures, so what do you guys want to see? I can put more that one type of cloud in these.

Can you enable two alphas? So you'll have a bottom layer with a transparency to the top with a transparency to the sun or stars?

Testing New http://i41.tinypic.com/2unzo5g.jpg, and http://i39.tinypic.com/30w4foz.jpg. I also retextured the snow particles, but I waited and waited around in Solsthiem and it just wouldn't snow!
Are you still waiting for snow? - You can:
changeweather "<place here region name where you currently are>", 8
for snow, or
changeweather "<place here region name where you currently are>", 9
for blizzard, and you can take a screenshot of snow then, even if you are in Seyda Neen actually.

Hey, wait a minute. I know what's wrong. You have distance blur enabled. Can you disable it and repost screenshots?

Why? I like distance blur.

Can you enable two alphas? So you'll have a bottom layer with a transparency to the top with a transparency to the sun or stars?

You mean like how Oblivion has two layers of sky(three including stars)? I could try to do that, but I'm not sure if I could get it to work with Morrowind's weather system.

Are you still waiting for snow? - You can:[codes]for blizzard, and you can take a screenshot of snow then, even if you are in Seyda Neen actually.

I've seen those codes, but I don't want to use them because they've screwed up the weather system in my games before. I like the weather, and I don't want it messed.

I'd noticed the blurry textures and thought they were low res. Then I noticed the distance blur causing that. If you disable distant blur we can see the details of your textures better.

If you are very fond of distance blur, http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?s=&showtopic=976590&view=findpost&p=14113118 for excluding skies from blurring.
Edit: Wait it works for nights only. Maybe another workaround.

I, honestly believe that your actions & thoughts are merely done in way of kindness, hopefully for improving the quality of the mod. But vtastek, don't go around now and forgetting whose is the creator of this modification, because I can also hardly believe that person is you. Cut the guy some slack and let he do his thing. I'm not saying anymore on that subject..

Advices, recommendation and suggestions is general positively accepted. Imposing and compelling something isn't. And yes, I know the margin between these two sides are slim, in some occasions, very slim indeed.

It's just the way I am. And English is not my first language. I always feel my words and grammar choices might lead some negative receive(the way you received it), and honestly trying to avoid it. It is just that I don't know how to. I need to take more English courses on the matter. The guy can have all the slack he needs. :)

Actually, my fix should also prevent daytime sky from blurring as well. I mention the night sky mainly because the blurring is more noticeable when MGE Distant Blur Strength is greater than zero without the fix.

By the Nine Divines! You were right vtastek! I mean, look at the difference between these two!

Oh, I got the http://i44.tinypic.com/20kdj0n.jpg done too, they have a unique look all over the sky, it can't even be entirely shown in one shot, I mean, the effect it has is phenominal, my dreams for the Morrowind skies are coming true!

:coolvaultboy: Amazing. You are working on ini tweaks too, right?

@new clear sky: Instead of small patches an overall solution. Looks much better.

Yup, right now I'm just using my SWG's Skies v2 ini settings, with a few tweaks. But I'm going to have to tweak the INI up again anyways, since with the UVmap method I'm using the sky textures move across the sky too fast.

Double post... but I actually have something to share!

I've finished the night sky texture (that's right, one texture) and I made a video which can be seen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DXDCw_7uoo&fmt=22, my gods, when I first saw it testing, I couldn't believe it! It's so amazing! No video is going to fully represent this mod, you just have to see it!

Holy $*#(%*(#&$*(##)$@

That looks incredible, I anxiously await this mods release.

One small thing though, I recommend offsetting the texture a little bit so the yellow/orange part of the night sky isnt unnaturally perfectly lined up overhead. Very small complaint though, cuz this looks brilliant.

A good suggestion, I do agree it looks a little too perfect. I also want to add some more nebula's to the texture, I only have 3 in there, and one of them isn't very visible.

Oh, I'll probably glowmap it too. :D

SWG, that vid looks just fantastic! Great work! Can't wait for this to be released...
Just one thing about the clear skies texture... it seems a bit, too cloudy? Meh, that's probably just me, I'm sure it'll turn out great when it's in my game ;)

The other half of it is more clear than the portion I've shown, remember, it takes up the entire sky!
