SWG Sky problems

Post » Wed Sep 15, 2010 1:53 pm

I downloaded SWG's skies earlier, and came across this.

And again at night, but with the weird box thing

Which makes the night look really unrealistic, as seen here.

I installed the night fix, didn't fix it.

I installed Vurt's skies. Didn't fix anything.

I installed MGE, also didn't fix anything. (But made my game nice and laggy, Thanks MGE, this is why I didn't install you in the first place.)

I just put all the textures in the folders in the "Textures" folder, and the meshes in the meshes. Then I use MorrowINI and selected the dark nights one. Then I installed the night fix, then Vurt's, then MGE.

It seems like I'm having RoadReaction's problem, but without the actual sky texture appearing.

Any suggestions?

What's your graphics card model and its total memory?

Both SWG's and vurt's replacer sky textures are HUGE and may not be able to fit into a contiguous block of memory on your graphics card. If you're using lots of texture replacers, try disabling large textures, i.e. > 512x512 and then try loading the sky textures - that should give you an indication if it's a contiguous memory block issue or that you're exceeding the available graphics memory for your card.

Heh, I actually replaced most default wilderness and clutter models with new ones...(Trees, bottles, forts, landscape mostly)

If I remove any large textures, I might not have any ground ><

But I love the ash/blight storm effects in these mods, and stupid me forgot to back up my original sky textures. :shakehead:

Is there another fix?

EDIT: Graphics card is a ATI Radeon X300/x550/x1050 Series. Total Memory is 128MB

I'm having basically the same issue, but I'm only noticing it at night.
I have an added issue though. Every time I try and download the night sky fix I keep getting redirected to a flash ad-page. I'd really like to give this mod (and Vurt's) a fair shake, but if I can't download the fix...

It's the right site. On the bottom right theres a little "Save to computer" link. Click that.
