Thanks everyone.
Will this be a direct texture replacer, or will it require a plug-in?
This is a direct replacer.
Do you plan to make somes unique banners for somes places (like inn) after have redo tha vanilla banners?
Not yet. Perhaps once I have my own angle on these. Currently I am mostly copying the original designs. Usually I only start doing a retex once I have a clear idea of what I would like a building or landscape to look like (I've recently been taking pictures of ancient tiles for a Mournhold replacer
). This time around I was just struck by the contrast between my high-res Telvanni textures and the low-res banner textures.
is the alchemist name supposed to have slightly darker colour in comparison with the simbol?
Good question. I'm not completely happy with the current text colour and Photoshop does allow you to change it to something else, like the colour of the symbol or lines. The original has black letters that look somewhat like Greek script, but they're small and don't actually appear to say anything.
Great banners Swiveller! Could I make a request that you release your blank banner base and possibly some other images which may be useful for people to use to create matching signs for their own projects (like the divider-type things, can't think of a word for them, too tired)?
Yes, I likely will.
I'm happy that you're trying to emulate the original designs (which is what I generally go for in a replacer). I would be curious to see some optional versions which take some more creative license with the design too though; like this http://s157.photobucket.com/albums/t68/Mr_Swiveller/?action=view¤t=tx_bannerd_alchemy_01-1.jpg.
I accidentally deleted that one, but it should be easy enough to recreate. I am still in doubt as to whether a more intricate design would be a good idea; I guess clarity is the single most important thing if you're a shopkeeper who wants to sell something (and there are no competitors anyway).
