Nicoroshi, personally I like the fact that you are going for the hover, makes me happy to see traces of MW in OB. And I like the idea of placing the statue over something like an ayleid well. But what ever ends up happening I will be fine with because those swords look like they are the [censored].

Edit- hit enter on accident and never asked what I meant to.
With the pretty swords and the statue of a god is this going to be another type of daedric prince quest where you need to make an offering (or not) and speak with the statue to get the quest for the swords?

Good to see you still at it Nico. Loving the new design. Although this time I see I'm too late for making names. ;)

Nice idea for the particle effect Ogramirad, and that's kinda what I have in mind. I like the idea of a floating statue for Almalexia, and I am sure I can come up with some kind of magical effect to make it appear to be held there by some greater force.

Very similar. No offering needed but a level of 18 or higher will be required to begin the quest. You will have to talk with the Almalexia statue (my wife will voice act for her) to begin the quest though, and throughout your adventure. She will not be the only one you'll talk to though as you'll get a constant companion through the quest (like it or not  my daughter) who will also talk with the player (all part of the story).

I have been writing the dialog, and come up with a couple of new twists that will add more flavor (read 'unexpected....keep the player guessing type stuff') to the quest.
Man....writing dialog is not easy. I am maybe about 30% done with that currently.
After which I need to produce the cells needed (dungeon building), record all the lines, and bring it all together in the CS before play testing.
Also working with Hobbs for the unique scripted effects of the weapons.

Still much to do but progressing.

Good to see you're still around Zero_Phoenix :)

The word is I have worked out a deal with a friend (another well known modder) to finish writing the dialog for me in exchange for me modeling, and rigging a custom armor for his mod.
Yes, you heard right Nico is teaching himself to rig meshes.
What does this mean in the grand scheme of things?
1. The quest is still a WIP with some minor models left to create, voice acting, dungeon building, and making it all flow together in the CS before initial release to a select few for play testing so I can release a bug free mod to the masses.
2. Other VERY talented modders are agreeing to help out with dialog writing, voice acting, scripting, and generally helping me get it together which should make for a great mod when finally complete.
3. Nico already has ideas for custom meshed clothing, and armor already to take advantage of his new found skill (it will wait until this project is released though) :D

Patience. It is coming.

Update:
I now have convinced two to help out with dialog, and creation of two of the Oblivion planes I will need for the mod.
So when released it will be a team effort, and not only a Nico mod.
This I believe will produce something much better than I could have done by myself, and also much, much faster.
There still is a bunch of work to do before it's ready for release but it is being worked on as I write this. :D

just a friendly bump, I wondered where this thread had gone. Hope everything is still under way and going well. :tops:

Things kind of hit a wall for a while as I waited for some 'trade of services' agreements with other modders to materialize (my end of the deal is 98% complete currently but I have stopped work, and held back permissions on what I have done thus far until I see something from the other parties involved....Do you blame me?).
I am still waiting on them but have decided to press forward into the uncharted realm (for me anyway) of quest creation, and dungeon building on my own.
I figure if I could teach myself to model, UVMap, texture, (basic) script, rig, and animate that I should be able to pull off learning to twist the CS to my will.
I am one to look at the bright side of things though.
The swords are ready, and Hobbs has graciously worked tirelessly on scripting unique damage effects for the blades which are really cool IMHO (No, I am not gonna tell you......It's a surprise. :) ).
Another positive thing that came of my 'trade of services agreement' is Nico has taught himself to not only model, and rig clothing, and armor but also how to create custom animations.
I have a non-mod related project that will be complete by this weekend (barring unexpected explosions......Don't ask) so I will be delving into the world of dungeon creation, and quest creation on my own in earnest (figure if I get it done before those I have been waiting on it's their loss).

So...Long story short:

I will see this mod to release. Work shall resume on Monday with or without outside help.
It may be a little bit shorter quest than I had originally envisioned but it will be fully voice acted (thanks Hobbs for sending me the studio mic).
I will be updating more next week in this thread.

Not blown off (I believe) but busy with other things (their own projects, and real life is my guess).
I just got tired of waiting, and need to see this off of my 'list 'o' things to do'.
