I am sworn to carry your dratted books...

So my second character is doing well. Another try at a nomad, which cuts sharply across my weird RPG hoarder instincts (weird because in real life I'm like the anti-hoarder). The first one failed miserably, bogged down in a house absolutely crammed with stuff. Clearly his nomad days were over and I let him retire to do whatever him and Lydia do there.

This time I have been much more disciplined...but...

I just cannot pass a book. And can't part with them either. Lydia, who in play one was not much more than a pack mule, is turning out to be a useful companion...but the poor girl is still loaded down with at least 30 pounds of books.

Just put them all in a chest or shelves in your house. No need to tote them around forever.

Being a nomad I'm actually not trying to buy a house.

Here's a link to all safe locations in Skyrim. Perhaps your character uses them as storage on his travels.

Maybe there is a mod that adds a public Library and you are the Librarian and you need to supply the books. Better yet a Cart that stores the books and you travel from town to town.

Sigh...

Maybe my nomad can just buy Lydia a house in gratitude for all her help and she can fill it full of books...

HEY! And adopt a kid...give the little urchin a good education, eh? Just 'cause I'm a nomad doesn't mean I don't care about the future generations...

I think I have a plan...

Rationalization, first law of role-playing games.

Do you have Dragonborn? If so then you could always get yourself the Dremora Butler, he can be summoned to carry your books and holds up to 150 weight....he could serve as a portable library for your nomadic hoarder

Dremora butler?!?

Clearly need one of those!

I went with buying Lydia the house. Hopefully won't regret it as it left me too short for a new 'shrine save' and it's been a while since the last one (dead isn't dead, but it requires going back to a 'shrine save', which requires an offering of 100 gold per level, currently 1200 coins). Did unload what turned out to be almost 60 pounds of books from poor Lydia though. :blush2: Nomad, huh.
