Symbols on the Airship from the kill-montage trailer

Post » Tue Dec 01, 2015 5:46 am

We all know that airship which we've seen blowing up in the kill montage video...

It's named Prydwen... And while watching, I noticed a familiar symbol next to the ship's name...

Look at this image:

It's the symbol of the Brotherhood of Steel

I don't know if someone has pointed this out already, but does the airship has some connections with the Brotherhood?

The name of the ship is the name of King Arthur's ship. So most likely Eastern Brotherhood.

Wouldn't surprise me, western BoS had built a zeppelin at the beginning of Fallout: Tactics in a way to exile the later-to-become Mid-western to the, well, mid-west.

This has been noted before and is not surprising, this is not the first time BoS has created airships such as these.

Interesting...

This leads to even further speculations about the BoS presence in Boston...

What are Lyon's chapter even doing in Boston?

Does that mean the Capital Wastes is already "secure" and "peaceful"? Or is it an ambitious expedition?

Yes. The name has also been linked to Arthurian legend, which is further linked to the Round Table found in the Citidel and Squire Arthur Maxson also found in the Citidel.

There are a lot of parallels, so this may be intended by BGS, but it also implies something really nasty is going to happen to the East Coast Brotherhood soon. Because also it implies that Elder Arthur Masxon's Queen Consort is... er... ah... stepping out on him and things are going to be going to hell in a handcart very soon.

I'm more curious how they became so well off in what seems to be a short amount of time. They don't have factories or manpower to mass produce vertibirds, armor or air ships. Even with the tech they scavenged from the Enclave it seems a bit much for being around the same time.

They mentioned 200 years after the war in the E3 trailer, now if this isn't a precise time it's still likely very close to 2077 (maybe 2087 or something). That doesn't seem like that much time for what we see in the trailer. What do I know though?

Ah I see... Now it makes sense... Especially with East BoS ability to boot up a robot like Liberty Prime...

Guess we are going to see an interesting plot development, aren't we?

Especially considering that the Eastern chapter is cut off from the aid of the West Coast chapters... That really do makes sense

Well with all the gameplay footage we got to see at E3, the Vault Dweller is fighting a lot of BoS's, and blowing up their ship. So hopefully you actually get a choice this time, to join, or fight them. But all the footage looks like you are fighting the BoS. Which I don't have a problem with. I didn't like that you have no choice in Fallout 3. If its Midwestern BoS, i might join them. If its Lyon's BoS, the streets will run with their blood.

I've mentioned this before but judging by the product page for Fallout 4 we'll choose a faction in a similar way to NV so the airship may or may not crash depending. Anyway back on topic my personal theory is that the East Coast BOS are either expanding or sending a large expedition north to increase the safety of the wasteland but most of all to get new technology. I feel that the East Coast BOS will have a sense of loyalty to the Capital wasteland so they'll be putting the Capital Wastelands interests first however in the past they've been shown to be very considerate of the people regardless of the area.

Indeed, being forced to work with Lyon's hypocritical butt annoyed the hell out of me.

On the other hand I hope we're not forced to be their enemy either, especially if it's the Chicago BoS. Choice please!

Haha like how the NCR are wanting to put the Hoover Dam only for their use, right? "Invaders" are almost always like that...

Then I guess we are facing with a Brotherhood of Steel expedition/invasion then?

Yikes, I thought the Institute vs the Railroad conflict is already exciting...

EDIT: Imagine what will happen if the Brotherhood "insists" the Institute to relinquish their technology...

The fact is while Lyons' Brotherhood may have good intentions, they like still have the ideal that they know what to do best with advanced technology.

Besides, Lyons is pretty old, it's likely he's dead by now, and more hardliners have taken over and taken the BoS back to more fundamentalist tendencies.

Hell, they could revive the idea of the http://vignette1.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout/images/4/4b/Fo1_BoS_D%E2%81%AEictatorship.ogg/revision/latest?cb=20130826164426.

Totally viable. Even when Lyons was still alive, some of the BoS just gone "outcast" (literally just going back to their roots) right?

It's almost the same like NCR history, back from the idealistic small republic in FO2 to the corrupt democracy we see in FO:NV...

I guess Boston will be a hell of a place...

God, this is getting more exciting!

Gotta remember the East Coast and West Coast Brotherhood chapters are very different. East Coast are much more paragons of virtues basically without exception while the outcasts are your more typical West Coast BOS.

Only Lyons group was paragon, the rest are preserve Tech and make sure nobody uses it for harmful purposes. I'm hoping there's two groups, lyons group and another BOS group, hopefully Midwest BOS that has issues with the institute about the tech that they use.

That would also be a possibility, but I think it's also possible, like Almages have pointed, that their idealistic and chivalric ideals will be diluted right? But I personally hope that the East BoS remains that chivalric order, because it's not everyday where you can see a group like that in the wasteland...

The Midwestern BoS is more interested in nation building and inclusiveness, by necessity. They did recruit Super Mutants and Ghouls after all.
Only the BoS back in California remain full on isolationist tech priests, and were marginalised as a result.

Ehh its just the East Coast BOS are much less selfish and they're more two dimensional in that they fight for good above all us the outcasts are more the typical West Coast BOS.

Well unless we got news on what chapter of the Brotherhood are they, I guess we could narrow down the possibilities to:

-The Eastern chapter (Lyons' chapter)

-The Midwestern chapter

-The Western chapter (highly unlikely due to the west chapter suffering from their isolationism)

- An independent Boston chapter that might have broke out from another chapter to start a chapter in Boston

I'm sure Arthur's Queen Consort is Sarah... He had a crush on her. And really? It would the perfect way for the Lyons dynasty to keep the power! Marriage with the legal heir.

And he's younger than Sarah... If Sarah is particularly ambitious, it is likely that Sarah may manipulate Arthur...
