Syndicate Script Leaked

Post » Sun Sep 19, 2010 3:23 am

Electronic Arts has not officially announced the title, but the rumors are true. Starbreeze Studios is working on a Syndicate game with EA.

Siliconera acquired chunks of the script for the upcoming Syndicate game. In-game advertisemants set up a familiar world – a dystopia where a chip called Dart can alter your memories. News anchors inform us about a diplomatic crisis between EuroCorp and the Gulf over uranium prices. A resistance exists too, a hacker known as Logos attacked the Manhattan Complex and escaped. Other resistance members… aren’t as lucky.

How were the original games? I love cyberpunk, so I'll keep my eye on this.

Sounds nice... Only if they keep to the original style and not turn it into a multiplayer FPS.

May bring hope for an actual Shadowrun RPG game..

All I want to know is if they turned the franchise into yet another bloody FPS. Reading the script, it sounds like it.

Actually it's an open-world third-person action game, according to the CEO of Paradox, who has already seen it.
I'm torn. Cyberpunk, heck yeah, but just some GTA thingie? Let's see if there is tactical squad command, but I'm not keeping my hopes up.

Just because EA publishes a game doesn't mean it's automatically a failure. DICE did a good job on Mirror's Edge and that was a pretty niche title.

But you know that EA ruins everything. Look at how utterly horrible people think DA2 is! The people must be right, their voices are so loud!

I have faith in Starbreeze. They've yet to make a bad game.

I can't honestly say that I have any idea what Syndicate is, but I love Starbreeze Studios, so I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this one.

It was an isometric tactical strategy game in a cyberpunk world, where you led cyborg agents through cities for various shady activities. Mostly wetworks. And it was really, really good. Ever wonder why people still think that Peter Molyneux might do something good after Fable? This is one of the reasons.

and that pretty much sums it up again. Every game I have played by EA I haven't beat all the way through. Except Dragon Age Origins. Though I came to the conclusion that i didn't like that game.

If starbreeze pulls through, then I will stand corrected.

Me neither. EA has run all of their properties into the ground and the new IP's they've tried have failed except for Dead Space which I don't care for either. The only series they haven't killed yet is Mass Effect, but you can see the seeds were planted by EA BioWare in ME2. I will not give another penny to that company.

ya totally agree. I liked Dead Space at first, but I felt that it was too.... EAish. haha and I felt that in ME2 as well. I played it for awhile, but then couldn't finish it because it lost my interest. I was very close to finishing it to. oh well.

I honestly had to go look up Starbreeze to see who they were. I still have hope the game will be a success. EA... PAWS OFF!!!!!

Probably not. The modern industry seems to have some sort of vendetta against top-down/isometric tactical games. Shadowrun, Fallout 3, Dragon Age 2, X-COM...

Can't wait for the gritty FPS/GoW reboot of Final Fantasy Tactics.

EA? So it's going to be an FPS (no chances it'll remain ISO, point'n click and team based).... It's going to blow. Nice to see this franchise to be flushed down the toilet too.
