Synergy

Post » Mon Feb 24, 2014 12:13 am

I have been in 2 beta's so far and still haven't figured out what the Synergy is, as such.

Of course, I have seen the prompts on-screen, but always when I have been a little too busy & too late to activate it.

I have looked through the forums & have yet to find detailed information on exactly what it is, it just gets mentioned here, there & everywhere.

So here is the question: Describe in detail what Synergy is..........................

lets say a mage cast lightning splash, wich is an AE DOT, the you can use synergi to make it go boom right away for increased dmg

the link in the post above talks about finesse and im pretty sure that is no longer in the game, so the basics from that thread is likely accurate, but i think its outdated

Ye saw that too. but it could give an overall look on it.

With Synergy, if you see it, the nyou have to act v ery fast pressing x or what button you have assigned for it, and different stuff can happen. I used it sometimes to gain more health, another I did something I do not really know :)

I haven't played much in the beta to try out this synergy. Anybody knows how they are triggered? How do we know when we can trigger a synergy effect, and with what skills?

They are triggered by pressing (X) which is the default key, or whatever key you bind to it.

You are prompted on-screen to press (X) for SYnergy when its available to you.

The skill element is part of the question I am asking about....a detailed explanation.

But it seems few know of enough details as of yet.

Understood. We'll probably learn more as we get closer to release probably.

Yeah I'm pretty sure there's no finesse in the game any more as well.

what i would really like to know is who gets the increased aggro

lets say i do a lightning splash which is an AE DOT, so likely wont give me a lot of aggro at first, and then the tank in the group hits X to make it go BOOM for a lot of dmg, does he get the aggro from the BOOM, or do i? if he gets it synergi could actually help a tank hold aggro

You'd expect him to get it, but I have no idea about how it does work.

Certain skills fall into the category of synergy skills. These skills have an effect when cast, but in addition, they put a large red circle on the ground (which I wish was a different color, because it looks like an enemy area attack circle, which I am conditioned to avoid  ). A group member who's inside the circle can press X to activate whatever the synergy effect is. So you have to pay attention to when they're cast, and then get inside the radius.

Beyond that, they all work differently; depends on the skill. Read the skill descriptions  Synergies are the ones that contain the text "Allies may activate the X synergy". http://eldersouls.com/elder-scrolls-online/skills

ALL the Undaunted guild skills are synergy skills, so that's a good place to start; but there are plenty of others scattered around the trees, for instance, DK ultimate "Dragonknight Standard", Sorc ultimate "Storm Atronach", and Templar ultimate "Nova".

I don't know anything beyond what's in the skill descriptions... and I really don't know what there would be to add, except maybe strategic advice about when to use the different synergy skills, which is beyond my expertise :) I've both cast them and benefited from them in dungeons, but not enough to be able to do a detailed compare and contrast. You might do better asking one of the long term beta testers who have been podcasting and writing articles.
