anybody know about these guys? it was in the trailer and kind of looked like a ghoul. Never seen one in previous fallout games, or just cant remember

Synthetic. New enemies, made by assumedly the Institute

Looks to be a new enemy type created specifically for fallout 4. Probably a rogue AI built at the Institute. Unknown if it is hostile due to faction affiliation or just another crazy wasteland robot.

any word on it being a robot? i was watching a high quality (1080p) video and it looks like a ghoul to me when i pause the video on it. Makes sense it would be a synthetic because of the word synth, but it looked more like a ghoul to me personally

could have been since i paused the video it created a blur affect that made it look like a ghoul

You guys talking about those things in what looks like a supermarket? I was wondering what those things were. They didn't look like feral ghouls to me.

I think they are the main enemy in Fallout 4, or at least the 'first wave' of the main enemy that we are shown. I believe they are also the very same entities we see in the supermarket during the trailer. And I also believe that they are being led by none other than our missing son Shaun.

Reminds me of those sims from Perfect Dark.

They eyes glow, so it would make sense, they are robotic.
I think with them looking somewhat like ghouls...
Think of Harkness and how realistic his synthetic skin, hair, blood and the like are.

It's my thinking that these are the guys that ended up on the cutting room floor. Their synthetic skin/organs are a flawed travesty of what scientists intended them to be. They are in this way, the ghouls of the android world.

Or they could be straight up chemically/radioactively damaged androids.

The one in the wooded area, look at the arm. Definitely looks like machinery in the elbow.

it is unknown whether any of them will be friendly... or if they will all be hostile to all humans ect.

actually it would be interesting if that ridiculous theory that the main character is an android/synth and you were to run across these things... of course that is completely ridiculous.. but it would be kinda cool because i feel the synth rebellion will play a large part in fallout 4 story.


what if its a 3 way fight... synth vs institute vs brotherhood that would make a very interesting story.. brotherhood that hunts machines vs machines that hunt people and the institute that is trying to hunt and reclaim these synths.

In all seriousness, I would assume a revolution accrued with the androids, possibly due to Harkness' success in escaping in fo3 (if him not getting caught is cannon).

Anybody played half life 2 ep2 were dog kills the strider and what looks like a human brain pops out? Or hit a fallen gun ship with a crowbar and realize that certain sections have either metalic noise or fleshy sounds? Thank you half life2 for my enthusiasm for synthetic machines. Heres to the synth overlords.

Yes there are feral ghouls in one of the fight scenes from the E3 video.

yes you can see feral ghouls in the supermarket scene in the trailer where one of them pushes a shopping cart out of the way as it tries to jump at the player.

and also in the other trailer out in the streets you can specifically see their name written above them "feral ghoul"

Yh, I have seen that one and yh it looks like we have ghouls back, but will it just be ferals or will we get glowing ones and reavers?

Yeah syncs seams to be some form of android, early failed attempts by the institute? A nice touch I notice is,that apparently as you attack them you can blow of chunks of there fake skin.
