I have about 4 Syringe Rifles right now and none are from Vault 81, which I avoid during my 2nd play through. I even modded one of them and I have never used it. I carried it around for a while, but I rather stick with my 10MM and my Exploding assault rifle. I do want to try it out, one of these days, but I am not even sure how useful that thing really is. You could get maybe one or two shots out of it, then you have to switch back to your "real gun". And how long do the syringe effects even last?

I've used it a few times with the Berserker syringe - sends target into a frenzy and attacks all other bad guys near by - is fun, for a while at least.

Used a berserker syringe on a Super Mutant hound and it ran towards a suicider taking both out.

Now THAT put a smile on my face :)

Pity that there's a lot of things that are too strong for it mind you. But I think it becomes increasingly useless the higher difficulty and level you go. Especially poison.

I would also like info on how effective each type of ammo is for it. Made one but haven't used it on any play through :o

I've never felt the urge to even try it. Just something else I'd have to carry around and doesn't seem nearly as effective than just some traditional bullets to get the job done. In the time I could drug someone and watch them fight I could have shot them both a dozen times.

I use the Syringer with the Lock Joint Syringe on higher level enemies prior to going in with my preferred weapon of choice to finish them off. Other times I like to shoot settlers to see how they react. :lmao:

Thanks for the replies peeps - seems to me it is kinda not worth the having to carry it around and also having to switch to another gun anyway once you fired a syringe

........plus if you can be bothered to collect odd aid ingredients as you come across them then the crafting of the syringe darts gives a teensy xp but is handy for extra cap top-ups from time to time it seems to me

Well you can make the darts for EXP whether you use them or not. Just crafting for EXP alone isn't anything to be ashamed of. :D

So basically frell the syringe shooter for now. Maybe a perk under int would have been a good idea. Maybe in a dlc if they add more than lvl 10 perks.

Exactly. Found the first one and was super excited, made a bunch of different ammo for it and not a single one worked as advertised. I sell any I find.

I hope better, more potent ammo is added for it in DLC, maybe ones that mutate humans into ghouls

Might be useful if multiplayer was a thing. Utterly useless otherwise in my opinion.

I don't think it's much use except for a laugh.

I've been carrying one around for a while to test, but I kept forgetting.

But last night I finally decided to go rescue that actor dude from the supermuties.

After entering the building, I heard a few muties chatting, and one wandered into view without spotting me.

Time to try out a berserker syringe, I reckoned, so I popped off a shot.

The dude went ballistic, it was hilarious watching him fire madly into the room he had come out of.

He didn't last too long, and i switched to my favourite snipey-snipe ™ and finished off the one who survived and came charging out.

When I climbed the stairs to check, there were four corpses in the room, including the berserker, so he managed to kill three before he died. Not a bad return on investment.

But I don't reckon the syringer will survive the cut when I do my next loadout review.

Come on folks. Some of the syringes have pretty nice value. They are part of my drug dealing empire and get sold.

I used it once with the Berserker syringe but got the message 'so and so is too powerful' and haven't touch it since. I was at lower level and hoped that it would thin out the herd a bit. I've been trying to make some Lock Joint syringe but those damn Stingwing never seem to drop a stinger.

I've used it once or twice, yet I still carry it around for some reason.

That one time was because I was curious how the Bloatfly Larva shot worked. It... created a mess.

more syringe ideas...

-exploding syringes that explode on death causing aoe damage, could be more for fun but adds some aoe damage

-cryo syringes that slow or freeze, maybe more shots eventually freezes

-nano tech syringes you can customize for the science guys

-takes over a guy

-changes them into a BORG!

-science stuff, maybe a disintegrate type syringe

-type of light/U.V. dart/syringe to mark enemies, can have diff colors and/or combine with other effects

-Type of disease or acid syringe that makes limbs fall off...haha

-Stim pack Syringe for companions at a distance when you don't want to run into bullet fire

-types of pheromone syringes that attract animals, bugs, ghouls....( good for hunting too )

When I saw this topic I started typing up some suggestions for mods for it. I didn't think of adding more syringes. I really like the stimpack one.

I even have a couple of it, but never once I tried it.

Is it one shot kill or some type of damage-over-time gun?
