My system and FO

Post » Sat Jul 10, 2010 10:08 pm

This is what I'm running right now:

HP Pavillion laptop dv6000 series (with all the HP bloatware stripped off)
Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz
3GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS with 1.5GB RAM

I did a systems check on game debate, and my video card received a pathetically low rating for this game. However, I also checked it against FO3, and it still got a low rating, though I don't recall having any problems with that game. OTOH, I've heard there were a lot of graphical/frame-rate slowdown/bugs with this one, so I'm just not sure where I stand. Being a laptop, it's not like I can upgrade it. Anyway, I'm/was planning to pick up FONV tomorrow morning, but I'm wondering how my system is going to handle it.

Your computer will not matter, the game runs like crap on any system until you load it with unofficial mods and patches to fix the game, because the developers are incompetent. But yeah, it will play.

Wow, that's pretty negative. Obviously, you didn't vote for the PB&J. :hehe:

I'm cool with downloading mods and patches, I just want to make sure I can do this with a video card that is apparently riding the short bus. :homestar:

As for the devs being supposedly incompetent, aren't they continually working on new patches? And the fact that these issues can be addressed is great. Obsidian has a pretty solid rep and history, AFAIK. Most companies I've seen tend to release a substandard game and not bother following up with any decent bugfixes. But I won't mention any names or anything, but some companies can be unbEArable.

Yeah it should, that's the point. Patches are basically done with this game, don't be expecting any more unless they are DLC related at this point. So the game will remain crap until you fix it with modders who do the developers job.

You play on xbox right?
From reading these forums I've gathered that a lot of xbox users have problems with NV. I'd expect a couple more patches if I were you.

I also read on another thread that you've suffered from the big red box that was caused by problem meshes on pre-order weapons..
These problems were fixed a long log time ago.

Not sure what to say to you aside from, "Cheer up, its not the end of the world. Just a game." :icecream:
