Gstaff,
Thanks for replying to the original poster's question regarding System Link. We were searching all over the Internet trying to find this one piece of information. We have just placed two copies on pre-order at Amazon.com. It is a relief to see that Bethesda is allowing for a LAN option with their games, as year after year the video game industry seems to be ignoring the offline, multi-player demographic.
If System Link is used in Brink you can be sure that we'll be pre-ordering six copies at Amazon, as well. We're not much into the FPS genre (and if there were a third person option we'd be extremely grateful), but now that EA Games, Ubisoft, and Disney Interactive have thrown their weight behind the minority of Xbox 360 owners that play online, the options for offline, multi-player gaming seem to be dwindling fast; and we are trying to give support to every System Link game we can.
In case someone thinks that I am speaking hyperbole: yes, the online community is the minority contrary to popular belief. Xbox Live has approx. twenty-five to thirty million subscribers with HALF of those being Gold members according to Microsoft’s own representative:

...yet the Xbox 360 has sold over forty million units worldwide. That means that any publisher that looks for sales only from the online crowd will be ignoring the majority, offline demographic and losing out on potential sales.
Thanks again, Bethesda. We’ve always purchased your RPG’s for the PC and the Xbox 360. We enjoyed your recently published WET game, as well. We look forward to the many games that you are going to be releasing in the near future, especially RAGE.
Thanks again for supporting the offline, LAN community of gamers.
Sincerely,
Fairhavensand
