[WIPz] T3T Outstanding Technology Taker

Post » Fri Nov 18, 2011 3:38 pm

I've finally decided I needed to get off my buttocks and do something of my own again, that didn't involve icons.

So, I decided a sequel to one of my favorite mods to make, http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=4930

The Crafting System will make this barter system better than ever, with every faction (starting with the BoS) having a Acquisitions Terminal to trade in various resources for credit chits, that you can then trade in for items that factions have a lot of but don't need.

The plan is to start with the BoS since I know them the best for this mod, and to ask for suggestions on what would be good for other factions acquisitions.

I've already got the "vending machine" placed and will be testing it shortly.

Not sure on the exact sorts of items you have in mind, but off the top of my head:

Followers of the Apocalypse - Medical equipment (bonesaw, scalpel, forceps, empty syringe, etc).
Gun Runners - Scrap metal, Guns ammo ingredients (lead, casings, powder, etc).
Boomers - Scrap metal, scrap electronics, other tools and crafting stuff (hammer, conductor, fission battery, etc).
Caesar's Legion - Lawn mower blade, tanned animal hides, ingredients for things like http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Bitter_drink and http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Antivenom.
NCR - Dunno about NCR; seems like they could use a wide range of things, but they're already well set up with suppliers (Gun Runners, Crimson Caravan) and trade routes.
Khans - Ingredients for crafting chems.

Thanks Antistar, those will definitely be considered.

I think the Legion one should be an NPC that activates the acquisition menu, similar to Veronica and her crafting ability. I'd need to figure out some basic dialog and how that actually works.

Other factions will probably be after the initial version releases with just the BoS. But getting ideas now doesn't hurt.

The arms merchant in 188 does say something about most of the troops being poorly equipped (don't remember the exact line, but the Courier's answer was about "The NCR doesn't have enough money to equip their troops?"), so perhaps low tier armor and firearms?

And of course "The NCR are asking for donations" (of food to Bitter Springs) :hehe:

Yeah the NCR is going to be a tough one to be sure.

Anyway, I've got basic ammo types and Tier 3 Energy Weapons Completed for the BoS acquisitions station.

Thanks for your interest in this. I've been very distracted with letting out my inner casual in MW3, but I really want to get this mod out there.

Not quite, still distracted though.

Its so hard to be a modder in the month of November, usually they're so many good games coming out at this time. I just wanna play em all.
