I just recently encountered a problem in morrowind it is affecting all my save games and I can't figure out how to fix it. In the game menus (character sheet, looting, bartering) I can't choose how many of an item to sell or drop etc. I click on something like chitin pauldron(5) and it takes all I honestly have no Idea what could be causeing this. Will someone please help me!
(I play with a heavily modded game.)

That is your root cause. Of course, now its up to you to figure out what mod or mod combos is causing this.
Post your mod load order in a Spoiler Tag (your mod manager should give you this as an export or clipboard item (you are using a mod manager right?))
I will move this to mods as that is the source of your issue.

Not sure that would help, alot of my mods are pluginless.

the only major changes I have made was that I recently turned distant land on in MGE xe.

OKAY I FINALLY solved the problem it was the shortcut thing in the morrowind code patch.
