"Take a Scrub to work day" Community Initiative

Post » Sun Mar 10, 2013 12:18 am

So based on Sdub's post here:

We should make an event. All the alleged "pros" can teach a scrub how to play C3 well for an entire day. We can call it...

"Adopt a Scrub."

I instantly got enthousiastic about it and thought: 'f*ck it, let's see if we can get things done!'

Now this is just a rough idea, but i was thinking that you could go and find a player who is a 'Scrub' or 'newbie' AND wants to learn the ropes, then post up here who is 'adopting' who and make it a small tournament between those new players!

Any and all suggestions are welcomed!

Cheers,

Ceph Nightmare

They should introduce a buddy system where a 'pro' gets paired up with a nwebie xD

Err...I honestly think a tutorial/guide video will be a million times more effective than a single pro spending time teaching a single player.

We need some C3 video guides, I think WaR is working on one and SDub's C2 videos are still highly applicable to C3.

Lol can′t believe someone actually made a thread about this.

Sometimes I take my time to teach things if I find a player I like (which may happen once per year). It′s funny how most of the time you just have to tell them the game basics for their skill to increase instantly.

Some of better players charge for lessons, but it's nice if someone would do it for free.
Flawless Victory got few of those cool and chill "newbies" recruited and turned them into above average players (some of them started playing fps games with C3 beta).
Hopefully some of better players will do the same.

I'm working on a german tutorial, i just don't know where to start.

But i hope a few more players get used to C3 so we'll have more challenges. ;)

I will adopt a scrub for a day. He/She can come chill with team Nexzil for the day and learn the ropes of being a pub star and maybe a little bit of competitive knowledge.

I agree that some good guides (video or text) will have a higher impact on the community, but this would be a very nice event, maybe better than a tournament. Let's go!
