It takes 2-3 weeks to put a patch through certification

I waited 2 months for a proper Fallout: New Vegas patch which I did patiently BECAUSE the developed kept us up to date on their activities.

Same here but it helped that about half a dozen games that I wanted to play came out in that time span.

Seriously, if you are still raging about Crysis 2 then you need to calm down and go play some Portal 2 or something. There are too many great games out there to get hung up on Crysis 2. Sure, its a great game, but it is not worth waiting for a patch when there is a very clear and wide disconnect between the community leaders and that of the actual development team.

But the only way such a disconnect will ever end is by our lengthy and vavacious complaining.

Disagree. The only way the disconnect would end would be if the forum admins were either integrated into the development team or members of said team were designated as community leaders. People have been complaining for a month now so if something was going to happen it would have by now.

I understand that there is a disconnect with much of the game's community simply because they are a German developer but it is clear that there is no publisher support in these forums and the admins do not have the knowledge on hand to answer questions regarding the game. When a player asks a question regarding Nanosuit reboots and the admin doesn't know a thing about it, then you know there is a problem.

Not that I see this post being up here all that long. This thread'll probably be "merged" or deleted as soon as this is read by an admin.

How can you disagree? They clearly would require motivation in order to make any changes. If all we did all day was praise Crytek and their community relations no changes will be made guaranteed. But if all they see when they look into these forums are complaint after complaint this then becomes said motivation.

See? Logic. It works.

Ideally, yes, that would be the case. The problem is Crytek is well aware of the complaints leveled against them and they know that for every one compliment thread there are about ten complaint ones. As such they have done nothing to demonstrate interest in addressing these community issues save for detailing what was supposed to be fixed in a failed patch.

The only way complaining would work is if the complaints were actually organized in a way that has more than a couple hundred community members within the game's forums. There is little to no complaining to be found on anything outside of these forums or a Crysis fansite. If you can't get a strong complaint thread started on a different site then I don't see how it could work.

If you want to have changes made you have to force Crytek by getting to them at their weak spot: publicity. No corporation/organization/etc. ever likes bad publicity and they'd have to publicly address the problems if they are forced to. As an example, a member of the community could have a 50lb box of lemons mailed directly to Crytek's headquarters in Frankfurt that also contains a notarized list of issues and complaints in Crysis 2. One could then garner publicity by contacting all the major gaming news sites (Destructoid, Joystiq, Kotaku if you are a sadist) and building momentum from there. Smart developers listen to their fans and that's why the likes of Bungie and Valve are so beloved. It's the quiet ones that need a swift boot if they are to ever go public about anything.

Firstly, that is actually a really good idea. Great post. Someone mentioned earlier in the week that the developers look at these negative threads and feel less motivated to do anything to fix them, which is quite frankly retarded as they could also gain valid criticisms and insights through the process, especially pertaining to what to do next time. When I was an apprentice I always asked people what they thought of the job I had done to get a better picture of my abilities and to improve on what I was lacking in. Objective reference is nearly paramount to honestly improving the quality of ones service and rapport with customer and audience.
And I think it has reached the stage where a nice well placed boot might get some activity generated.
