TAKING LEGAL ACTIONS AGAINST CRYTEK

Post » Thu Aug 20, 2009 6:33 am

So Crytek messed up and somehow I have 2 accounts with the same email...I didnt even make the one..I have no clue how it got there. So anyway it took me hours to figure out what was wrong with my account and why my pre ordered content wasnt working. When I figured it out I logged onto the other name and yay it worked. But when I try to get 20 kills to unlock a scope or use my unlock points to unlock anything It goes away the next time I log in and I have to restart. I have sent them EMAIL after EMAIL with NO RESPONSE. I've sent CRY-TOM PRIVATE MESSAGE AFTER PRIVATE MESSAGE with NO RESPONSE. I was as patient as I could be..But I have no choice now but to take Legal Actions. I'm posting this here with hopes that someone in CRYTEK will see this and realize how BIG of an issue this really is before this gets to a point where it doesn't have to. Some of you may be saying wow kid get a life, you cant take them to court. You may be right, and maybe I do need a life..But i'd rather have my 60 bucks plus any law suits that are made than to give them the satisfaction of me just buying another copy. Sorry CRYTEK but I'm not spending another dime on any of your products. All I want is this issue resolved and if that involves my Uncle (a lawyer) to take legal action then so be it. CRYTEK fix this or i'll see you guys in court.

Ok I'll bite,

You do need to realise that EA have pushed the release of this game to maximise money grabbing and that CryTek are working there ass off to fix issues that would not of been present if EA had let them finish it.

You would have 0 chance of a law suit over this if you agreed to the EULA you have effectively said OK to whatever happens.

Join the Que of people waiting on the patch that will resolve the issue, Day 1 releases of AAA titles have been plagued with issues for the last few years as the Industry is driven by what the publisher deems as Ready for Market.

It is like anything adopt any product early and expect bugs.

Could you happen to be playing unranked matches? Because it counts your points, and when you log off, like you described, you lost your points. It's another issue in the game. I'm assuming you never earned those points. Sorry.

Ok so your uncles a lawyer and you think that it gives you some privilege of suing a game developer when they didn't answer you after one day....since legally you've only had the game since the 22nd.....get some patience and look up Frivolous Litigation on wikipedia while your waiting.

Oh and heads up so when you get your reply back from Crytek......abschrauben means screw off in German.

Not sure what ticks me off more, the fact that you have to pay 65 bucks for the game thinking its DX11, and to me it looks just slightly better than the first crysis......Or the fact that you can't even sit down and play a private match with a friend...... I hope both these issues are fixed with this patch and it aint weeks, I have to say, I'm very disapointed with the game..........I went out and bought me another gpu just to be able to play it in 11 and here game will run on one card with ease.......Shame on you crytec, I expected more!

Alright, I don't normally like to write in forums but I feel I want to comment on how ridiculous this is. First off, filing a claim against anything costs money, and a lot more than 60 dollars. Not to mention if you're pursuing this in civil litigation (you are) you have to claim an injury. The concept of civil court in regards to monetary issues is to compensate for an injury (make up for what happened with money to make you "whole" again). In this case the most you would ever be able to ask for is 60 dollars... Also, depending on the state or country it would never go to court even if it was accepted because small claims (generally under $50,000) are required to go through arbitration first. Most importantly Crytek would never be directly affected by a lawsuit as they are a business and not a person. This means they have business insurance which would handle all legal claims and the most you could get out of them is there deductible (something that will never happen with you because you have nothing to sue over).

I'd like to add I'm in no way satisfied with Crysis 2 but making idle threats isn't exactly productive....

I don't think "action" needed to be plural.

Just saying...

Have fun with your lawsuit,
Ill just keep playing this great game :)

Give them some time, settle down, and wait for support. Perhaps just play through the single player until the issues with your multilayer content is settled?

Hi guys,

This thread is being locked because a general forum is not the correct location to discuss legal action. If you are having problems with Crysis 2 please check out our temporary fix thread here: http://www.gamesas.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=40&t=12386

For contacting me, please do not expect a PM response at this time, as you may imagine I have far more messages than I could possibly answer myself. Please read through the forum first for solutions to your issue, or if you need direct contact then head over to http://support.ea.com.
