A tale of two wikis.

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 12:23 pm

Anyone else find it strange that there are two elder scrolls wikis?

UESP seems to be better in my opinion, and I usually go there, though elderscrolls can be more detailed in terms of lore, it has less practical information, or maybe this is just my personal experience.

For some odd reason I find myself looking at UESP when I want to swallow some lore. but I usually go to elderscrolls wiki for quest help or something along the lines of that.

Hardly, both of these are fansites. It just means elder scrolls is so popular that people want to compile all knowledge about the series....twice.

I'm a UESP devoted fan. And yes, the word filter censored my own use of the term to describe myself. Irony ftw.

I'm proud to be a UESP fanboy, and ain't nothing gonna stop me from describing it.

I find most of the "lore" on the ES Wikia to be mostly conjecture, while UESP is more conservative with lore and uses only information found in game.

The UESP used to be the only one I would go to, because it always had the most in-depth details and such about EVERYTHING, but since Skyrim came out it has been lacking on updating/creating articles, whereas the other wiki has been doing it pretty well.

Everything has like 500 wikis. UESP is the best though.

I've found both lacking at various points and often have to bounce between multiple sources. But I suppose that's to be expected this early before information can be fully compiled.

UESP seems to be the better choice, I recall it having more comprehensive stats for other games like Oblivion.

I really wish people would just stick with one wiki or the other. Both of them have lots of content for Skyrim, but a good deal of the articles aren't fully fleshed out.

UESP is brighter and it really suits TES, with the background being like a scroll or book page. It has also been around for a very long time and it has more content. I've recently made an account on it and have been editing some things.

Though I admit, TES Wiki is more community based, with the polls and member of the month stuff. I still like UESP more though.

Same here. Anyone know what's up with UESP? Maybe I'll make an account and start updating some pages.

Definitely prefer UESP. I pretty much lost hope in the Elder Scrolls wiki when I found out their screenshot for the Winged Twilight was some modded playable race.

Although for any in-depth lore, I always go to the Imperial Library <3
