[REL] Tales of Lycanthropy - Werewolf Overhaul

Post » Sun May 27, 2012 4:48 pm

You need to load up Lycanthropy_Audio_by_Brevi.esm before Update.esm. The normal launcher simply won't let you do that...

You can use either of these great custom launchers:
Nexus Mod Manager - http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/content/modmanager
Wrye Bash - http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=1840

Perhaps you can also somehow force edit it manually but I would wager that the launchers above are so much easier then that.

Looks fantastic, Brevi, I look forward to trying this one.

Every mod that does not affect Werewolves or The Companions should be completely fine. Just as Pink said.

http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1363415-rel-frostfall-hypothermia-camping-survival-thread-2/affects Werewolves only in the sense that the exposure rates are adjusted if you become a werewolf. I think there is an update planned for http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1357444-relz-imps-more-complex-needs-2/ that might do something similar for the hunger rate.

Perhaps they need to be loaded after Lycanthropy_Main_by_Brevi.esp?

BootySweat:
I think it should not matter where you load them as they will only check if you are race=werewolfbeastrace.

Isn't it a dangerous ground to load anything before update.esm?

It's perfectly fine don't worry. The audio file has nothing in it at all, just the new music tracks and sound files. This is the only way Skyrim can use them if they are loaded before Update.esm.

News!
I mentioned once that I was working on a little surprise which is now finally ready! Without further adieu, let me present the mod's second optional file:

New werewolf model / textures: The Howling
The file does not require anything other then your base Skyrim installation. There is currently no separate female version but you can use this model together with another author's female model.

Unedited full screen screenshots: http://www.spwned.net/pics/tol/screenshot1.png, http://www.spwned.net/pics/tol/screenshot2.png

I'm very impressed with this mod, did you do it all yourself? Have you considered adding a main quest to this mod after you put all the features you want in it?

Werewolfenthusiast:
Check the nexus site, it has a lot more screenshots. Yes I've done this mod alone with the occasional support and help in testing from my girlfriend. :)

New version is ready:
2012.04.13. Version 2.4 - Followers will work as intended. (If you had a lycanthrope follower before this version, then use the mediate dialogue once.) Call of the Wild will now work every time, event werewolves will not howl during the day, werewolf hunters are much stronger.

I'm pretty sure I've nailed the bug that caused the followers to stop transforming into werewolves properly. VERY IMPORTANT that when you update from version 2.3x to version 2.4 you MUST use the 'Meditate.' dialogue once to update your existing follower to the latest script. I've also changed the infection bite damage to be flat 50 damage instead of 50%. I cannot imagine that any follower has lower then 50 health so hopefully they will never die from the bite damage now when on full hp.

Regards.

I'm liking the ideas in this mod. I have a few niggles, but on the whole it's a large step in the right direction.

I'm wondering if you have any plans to "fix" Sinding's voice. I found it quite silly that Bethesda had him talking during the Ill Met By Moonlight quest, but it was even sillier that he had a completely normal voice. Unfortunately it really isn't possible to make him not talk without redesigning the quest, but do you think you could at least alter the sound files to give him a deeper and more guttural voice for the lines he says as a werewolf? Or maybe even re-record them, if you or someone you know can voice act with an appropriate beastly voice.

Also, how about a patch for the Alternate Start mod? Something to add an option to start with full-fledged lycanthropy somewhere in the wild (maybe as an infected hunter, or an escapee from a Silver Hand hide-out).

Great mod, I've only had Skyrim for the PC for a few days now, but Tales of Lycanthropy is by far my favorite mod that I've downloaded so far! It added things that I thought should have been in Vanilla, and it definitely makes werewolves 100x more realistic!

I absolutely love the Howling model, for me its the best part! I've never modded before, and I have no idea how to go about doing it, but once I figure it out I was planning on recoloring your Howling model to make it's back completely black, and maybe making it's shoulders less broad, if its possible.

Right now, Tales of Lycanthropy is my favorite part of Skyrim. Fantastic mod!

Woah slight necro there, Slip11!

FYI the mod author is currently retired and thus the mod is no longer actively supported. Source for the mod is uploaded on the main file page for other modders to continue the work or to use the code for their own work.

Uh, I don't know what "necro" means, but if it means what I think it does, I should definitely clarify. I was only gonna alter it for myself, I was never planning on distributing it. If necro means plagiarism.

Thanks for the FYI! Concerning making/altering mods, I have no idea what I'm doing. At all. But I'll definitely use the source for the mod thing when I do!

Saw this mod the other day on Nexus and downloaded it straight away. I don't have any 'intention' of becoming a werewolf, but I figured the thrill of darker nights, and the possibility of getting my ass handed to me would be a great addition!

No, no, meant as 'necroing' a thread. The last reply before your was 13th April. Not an extreme necro (some replies come YEAR after the last reply), but I thought it was one since the mod hasn't been updated and won't be for a bit till someone takes over, so there shouldn't be any news about it for a while.

Mmm This sounds to be about what I had in mind for a mod; I just wanted the werewolf powerrs to scale with the charcater level as have the werewolf form be always a bonus not a hindrance, will download it and try it out thanks!
