I'm going around getting help against the Powder Grangers. I get Chet's agreement and say bye and the game locks. Has this happened to anyone else and what can I do about it?

He just gives you leather armor. The best solution would be don't even bother with him. Get Trudy and Sunny Smiles, they are the only ones that help, the other three just give the player stuff, and all of them are optional.

Sounds like a bug and...
* What platform are you on?
* What patch level?

This probably belongs to the appropriate bug reporting/platform section...
