[Relz] Talos Bridge Gatehouse

Post » Tue Mar 29, 2011 11:15 pm

Yay for realism! :P

Ever wondered why there wasn't any sort of checkpoint or defence before you entered the Imperial City, the capital of Cyrodiil and the Empire? Well now you don't have to.

This mod adds a fully functioning Gatehouse built upon Talos Bridge to prevent any criminal scum, Mythic Dawn agents, or Gods forbid the Grey Fox from entering the city!

-The mod features over a dozen new NPCs which will go about their daily business.
-New walls have been constructed around the main entrance to maintain security and trade throughout the city.
-The Imperium Tavern located within the gatehouse will provide you with food and drink if you have the gold.
-There is also a bard and a juggler who will entertain you while you sit down and have a drink.
-The Legion smithy on your way out is willing to trade with you as well.

Enjoy the mod!

This is pretty cool! Not only does it make sense that there would be something like that, but it also breaks up that long boring bridge very effectively, which is a very good thing. And all those details are very nice too, like all those different kinds of crates and those awesome carriages and wagons!

Also liking the look of those interiors and the features like bards etc. that you mentioned. Downloading now. :)

Thanks! The carriage was a resource made by Stroti. Quite the talented one in my opinion.

Thanks! The wagon was a resource created by Strotis, oh and those 'glider like thingies' are ballistas. ;)

Thanks for the suggestion, but I don't I'll be making anything similar for that mod right now.

Is it certain that this is compatible with both BC and UL? I'm getting a whole load of big rocks blocking the road, which has been straightened. Easy to get rid of the rocks with the console but I liked the road being twisty.

Great mod though, loving the ballistas and pipe smoking npc in the tavern. Adds a lot of atmosphere.

The Imperial Isle mod is incompatible. Right now Arthmoor over at UL is working on a patch to make the two mods compatible. ^_^

This is great, instant download! I love the little details you've added.. Could you make it so that the gates lock up in the evening and open again in the morning?

I love the details you've put in there, Dàin. The Imperial Bridge will be much more fun to visit now instead of being a long, empty road.

Thanks! :goodjob:

Hmm, I'd prefer to leave it as it is, as it might interfere with some AI routines that I don't know about.

Patch for Imperial Isle is up at Nexus: http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=13834

Thank you! I'd hug you if I could. :P I'll add a link to the original post under compatibility.

Thanks, Cliffworms! I always hated how empty the bridge seemed.

I really like the looks of this one, and i can see it becoming a part of every game from now on. :)

But if i saw it correctly then the part that is added, is right in the place where The Ayleid Steps adds 2(Maybe more?) step stones. Would TBG and TAS conflict in this small manner or not? Currently it does not matter since i do not have The Ayleid Steps installed this time, but it is nice to know up front. :)

Well, from the little testing I did, it seems to work fine with TAS. In fact, the only things that are near the stepstones are two guardsmen, blissfully unaware of what they're standing on :)

Thanks EruditeDragon, that is good to know.

And those guards are standing on the step stones...LoL i now wonder what will happen if you activate the step stones, will they teleport with you to their doom, now that would be fun.

I've just downloaded and tried this out. An outstanding piece of work, and I think it will stay in my load order. However, I have to report a compatability issue issue with http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=22751. That mod adds various bits an pieces to Imperial Isle and the far shores of Lake Rumare, and two of these things conflict with TBG - an inn to the north of the TBG complex and a small farmhouse to the south of the complex. I wouldn't know where to start to try fixing this, sadly ...

You're thinking of Unique Landscapes: Imperial Isle, for which Arthmoor created a patch, uploaded as linked. Region Revive: Lake Rumare has not been patched.
