Talos as a Character

Post » Thu Dec 08, 2011 1:20 am

Hiya. Hoping to farm some information from the Lore forum. We all know about Talos/Tiber Septim. He's a god, but he -was- a man. All men have stats in Elder Scrolls game. So, I was wondering if Talos/Tiber Septim was an in-game character.

What attributes (Personality, Will Power, Strength, etc.) would be his forte?
What perks would he have?
Which of the perk trees would he most focus in? (Destruction, Speechcraft, One-Handed, etc.)

Perhaps you folks, knowing Tiber, could tell me what he would excel in and where he would flounder (not that I truly expect him to flounder, but he wasn't amazing at everything while mortal).

I'd wager he'd be kinda like http://uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Wulf, only younger. And meaner.

Attributes: 100.
Skills: 100.
Level: Over 9,000.

Actually, he's made up of 3 people, so his stats are probably more like 300.

he was a sort of shrewd politition wasn't he? so high speech craft, and he was a warrior, or could lead people in battle. I believe he used the voice, he earned his name by stopping a cloud of arrows with thu'um

Okay, seriously, now! I knew this was going to happen! I'm trying to make a character for Skyrim that is Talos reborn, and I'd like to be able to mimic his traits.

The most powerful characters in the Elder Scrolls, as foretold by Michael Kirkbride:

Talos.

The HoonDing.

Trinimac.

Vivec.

Leki.

Reman.

Auri-El.

Wulfharth.

Morihaus.

Pelinal.

That's my list, and pretty much in that order. Though Vivec did kill Tiber Septim once...but I mentioned Talos, not the Emperor.

Soooo.... yeah. Good luck with that.

The main character of Oblivion was Pelinal reborn (see the prophet in Knights of the Nine who actually looks an awful lot like Uriel Septim), so if he/she was the weakest in all his/her overpowered glory, I don't think you'll really be able to mimic Talos without just using your imagination.

But... if you want a character that's possible in-game (which honestly wouldn't do Talos justice), I'd go with Seeker's link.

Breton/Nord/Imperial (depending on which Talos you want to emulate... probably Breton for Hjalti).

For Tiber Septim:
Probably one-handed, high speech. Heavy armor. He was a shrewd politician, so likely had his share of "practical Alchemy" knowledge, too.

For Arctus:
Heavy armor, Destruction, Alteration, other Battlemage-y things.

For the Secret Ingredient:
Probably still heavy armor, two-handed, maybe a pinch of Destruction and a dash of Alteration. Moderate speech (could lead men in battle, but couldn't convince Tiber to attack Morrowind). Not a whole ton that I know about this one.

Oh, and because that article about Wulf doesn't actually have his stats, here they are, ripped straight from Morrowind:

Hand to Hand and Light Armour: 15
Speechcraft and Mercantile: 20 (told you it doesn't do him justice, I'd call these 100, since well, it's freakin' Talos)
Marksman: 64
Spear, Axe and Armorer: 94
Blunt Weapons: 98
Athletics, Long Blade, Block, Heavy Armour and Medium Armour: 100

Everything else is at 10.

They gave him a 94 in Spear, Axe, and Blunt, but couldn't be bothered to toss a little Speechcraft his way?

I guess it is a little useless for NPCs.

Anyone else suspect that the Breton Nightblade who killed Cuhlecain and supposedly slit Tiber's throat in the Orthodox account was actually Hjalit?

Now, here's some knowledge I was looking for!

So, I'm thinking:

One-Handed
Block
Heavy Armor
Destruction
Alteration
Speechcraft

I'm stuck on the last one. I could go Armorer and make him positively nordic. Also, I heard it's rather useful/fun. Or, I could go Restoration, as he did manage to survive a dagger to the throat. Could also ditch Destruction I suppose, for enchanting. Alteration makes sense with the arrows, even if it was The Voice.

However, if anyone else has ideas, throw 'em at me.

Well, you'll have the Voice in Skyrim, so you can ditch the magic skills- perhaps even go full Nord and refuse to use any non-Thu'um magic. Also, armourer is a bit plebean- what you want is a plethora of combat skills, plus good social skills.

So, take marksmanship? Even though it was awful (in my opinion) in Oblivion? Suppose it would make more sense for the God of War that is Talos.

Still up in the air about Nord vs. Imperial, though. Sure, Talos was a Nord, but he was adopted and made famous by the Imperials. What would be more interesting? A Nord fighting for the freedom of his homeland under the Stormcloaks, or an Imperial realizing his own people have sold out to the elves and are imposing unfair hegemony on Skyrim (something like Dances with Wolves or Avatar for the young'uns).

This is easy. So long as you are on a PC. Just toggle God mode and be done with it.

I don't mean the God come down to Nirn. I mean the man, reborn, with his Dragonborn powers!

Immortal souls can't be recycled through the Dreamsleeve. He can't be "reborn".

That's just to say he can't be reborn through the normal mechinisms. There are always exceptions.

A Dragon Break is when time stops being linear.

The Aedra died. I guess being already dead does stop you from being immortal.
