Tamriel or Akavir

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 4:43 pm

I expect a build-up of Akiviri elements in the series and eventually an invasion maybe, ruining everything we hoped they would be.

Something along the lines:
TES V Skyrim: In Skyrim there are even more remains of the Akaviri, forgetting about the lore of the Nedics.
TES VI Summerset and Valenwood: Maybe up to the point of a scouting ship of Akaviri
TES VII Elsweyr to Black Marsh: An invasion, hopefully better than the Oblivion Crisis
TES VIII Akavir: Colonies of Tamrielis --- probably ruins the whole build-up

Do you really expect this?

Good because what you wrote before is just not going to happen.

Definitely - and that Tsaechi better damn-well be serpentine. (the whole Tsaechi=Imperial thing from Pale Pass pissed me off).

That one confused me too, but I have a theory about it which makes it less confusing? Ready to feel stupid? They used human agents (it still doesn't explain why there were no signs of an Akaviri agent anywhere in the ruins though).

But as for the original post I don't see TES taking place in Akavir any time soon, if ever.

Leave Akavir the Hell alone... We mess with Akavir and we have dragons, the Nerevarine, and all kinds of bad juju.

Agreed, let the mystery be.. erm... mysterious? :P

Akavir.

The dev team needs to fire up their creative juices. Middle-Earth-Cyrodiil is too fresh in my mind, I want something more exotic...

I think a break from Tamriel might actually do the series a bit of good.

If they EVER touch Akavir, the series will go down the drain. If they even place the game there, there may as well be plasma guns, VATS, spartans from halo, barney, spongebob, and people from Fable dancing around and singing. The series would go the same place.

Why? You might as well say taking the game to Black Marsh would ruin the series - it is as mysterious as Akavir, too! Or Valenwood, or Elswyer - or even everyone's oh-so-precious Skyrim. Just because it was mysterious in the past doesn't mean there can't be more mysteries in other places. Plus, Akavir is probably as diverse and large as Tamriel. If the game does go there, it might only be a portion of the entire place, not unlike how Vvardenfell is but a small part of Tamriel as a whole.

I, for one, wouldn't mind some different races, architecture, philosophy, and interpretations about the Aedra, Daedra, and other forces that make up the TES universe. How do they view Tamriel and the Septims? How do they perceive the Daedra? What's their take on the creation of Nirn, Lorkhan, and the Towers? Why have they stopped interacting with Tamriel? What mysteries do they have?

You ever played arena? Black Marsh, Elswyr, and Valenwood were all in that game.

Akavir is supposed to stay mysterious, we can learn about it from IG books, but a game set there would be very, very, very bad.

Still, screw Norway. I say Bethesda should transplant the Nords entirely and take their real-world inspiration from the architecture and landscapes of the North Caucasus. Slavs and Chechens and Circassians oh my!
For some reason, I read that as Cardassians. So, would everyone be dressed like they are in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Clez6WRY7lQ

Not the Bosmer?! Oh well, I like the Altmer ok, I dislike the Imperials (Oblivion's Imperials, Morrowinds were boring but ok) and hate Bosmer (Morrowind and Oblivion's, Daggerfall's weren't too bad, if there were any) so I hope that TES V doesn't take place in Valenwood or Cyrodil. I want the Summerset Isles so we can meet Morgiah again actually.

Weird, your hatred of Bosmer originally made me think you were rather fond of Oblivion.

Personally, I'd rather we saw something more of Akavir in Tamriel itself. We had years of the Potentate, and the bloody fighters' Guild was started by them, but all we see of their influence is one castle and around 20 NPCs with Katanas. Mind you, there's been a general removal of anything vaguely oriental from Cyrodiil, so perhaps we should be happy just to get that.

I want to see something in Akavir, simply because it's mysterious. It's like Morrowind being set in Vvardenfell was, because it's so out of left field that it's amazing.

I also don't have a "favorite" province like so many people seem to, so I don't have that sense of bias.

Ok, so say the Devs allowed you to pick between Akavir and Tamriel for TES V, which would you choose and why?

I would choose Tamriel because I'd like Akavir to remain mysterious.

Also, we all know that the Devs making this offer will never happen, and this poll will have zero impact on TES V, so if you don't like this poll, don't post/vote; no one is forcing you to participate.

I beleive bethesda should maintain a sense of mystery along with showing a background as were the Nords grew and migrated from in Skyrim. Along with similar and new weapons no guns unless voted on. Also a wide variety of new spell creating abillities.{sp} Oblivmaster TTYL

They still have a lot of 'splainin' to do where Tamriel is concerned.

Bingo. But hopefully one day they do explore some other continents in TES series.

i'll just state my points again, they have alot of things to explain and fill in tamriel so even if they were planning something for Akavir, it would have to wait until they could finish up with Tamriel, plus i think we shouldn't visit another continent until we've seen everything in Tamriel, i want to see each province once with the newer 3D graphics systems, simply to look in awe at every possible detail left, that means Elsweyr, Blackmarsh, Summerset Isles, the rest of Morrowind, High rock, Skyrim and anything i might have forgotten, after they show us each province then they can move on to Akavir (with the right conditions)

As to Akavir itself, it really should remain a mystery, at least until we read enough from vague texts like 'Mysterious Akavir' to get a clear picture of what we're going to see in Akavir, i am actually against them showing akavir, but if they do they have to do it slowly and carefully, we don't want an entire continent ruined from foolhardy rushing.

The only reason I don't want the Summerset Isles is because of how much I hate the Altmer. The setting (Mediterranean?), lore, and landmarks are great. I just hate those damn elves! :swear:

They still kick those Ash-Animals any day.

 You seem to be taking a video game waaaaay too seriously. It's just a game, no need to get so worked up over fictional races. :P

They'll do Akavir at some point I think. It's just a matter of time. On the other hand there is much moe of Tamriel to explore before talking the last journey of the Nerevarine.

If they ever make Akavir, then i wouldn't believe it to be made before we have seen all of Tamriel at least once again.

I got an idea: Why not merge Akavir and Tamriel? Let's say the continents collided somehow, and now they are one continent! :D

Sumerset Isle is probably quite alien. If not, Bethesda can make it. Black Marsh is definately completely very alien. Having played Arena first, I imagined Morrowind to be quite boring...

Well, conscidering that it is mentioned several times in in-game books and on the website that all man-like races have gone extinct on Akavir it would be pretty hard to have an adventure, let alone a whole game there.

Also, to anyone who thinks that there is nothing interesting left to do on Tamriel I will mention the detail and lore put into the Infernal City book that was released about a year ago. I think that showed everyone that the devs still have alot up their sleves when it comes to lore and story on the mainland.
