We seem to have suffered a reidentification; this section now appears to be titled "TES Artwork and Fan Fiction". Only, no artwork seems to be forthcoming, so I'm taking the wereboar by the horns (do wereboars have horns? Discuss). Post ye artworks here!

I'll just pimp myself out get the ball rolling, shall I?

I can draw ... badly....which is why I shall NOT be posting any drawings here.

But I am greedy for piccies, so everyone, please add them!

And I have seen the name change for a couple of days, and Rumple is the first lass to have taken advantage of it.

OT: I hope you are feeling better Rumple...

if not :stare: GET BACK IN BED TILL YOU FEEL BETTER!

Oh and BTW...

I am NOT getting into a discussion of whether wereboar are horny or not. Am NOT. AM NOT, AM NOT, AM NOT!!!

Alas, if only I truly had a tail! Anyhow, don't think you're going to weasel out of posting pictures if you have them. Stump up!

Well, if you don't have a scanner, you can always take a digital photo?

Rumpleteasza, I hope I am not taking your thread in a direction you do not intend, but I don't have any talent for drawing. :nope:

I was intrigued a long time ago on the OB general forum by a poster who treated screenshots like art. He would, for example, wait until the sun was just right for that Anvil Bay sunset and capture it. Beautiful stuff. Here, let me see... I think I saved a link that he posted.

Oh, yes. Here it is. Wonderful Oblivion scenery screenies: http://s187.photobucket.com/albums/x274/halo3cluefinder/Oblivion/?start=0

An Ohmes Raht khajiit is, sir, for your information, found in the Lore. And they do look like that. May I suggest you study the lore more before you post?

Wow, these are gorgeous! I look at the screenshot thread in the Oblivion section quite often, but I hadn't come across this particular user. Good stuff!

Thank you very much, Veneficus and con-tu-reh! I'm glad you liked them :)

Surely someone else has some art to post? I know there are people out there! In the meantime, here's a link to DeviantArtist http://theminttu.deviantart.com/ - she's done some truly beautiful pieces, my favourites being her scenics such as http://theminttu.deviantart.com/art/Bitter-Coast-126685923, http://theminttu.deviantart.com/art/Netch-Plantation-115200138 and http://theminttu.deviantart.com/art/Crossing-the-Ashlands-101790543. She's also done some great Oblivion parodies - http://theminttu.deviantart.com/art/Oblivion-Justice-Prevails-87940238 comes to mind ^_^

Not necessarily. Don't they have tails, cat ears, and snouts shaped like a feline's?

PS, your avatar is disturbing.

True, but they did say it was an Ohmes Raht Khajiit.
I get that a lot.

There are many different forms of khajiit, ranging from almost-elven looking to tiny housecat shapes. Each Elder Scrolls game so far has featured a slightly different version - there is more information #http://www.imperial-library.info/fsg/raptormeatarticle1.shtml if you're interested.

Yea, I got a camera. I wouldn't say my drawings are as good or better than any pics here, mainly because I desperately need to work on my shading, and making faces are really tough. I end up erasing again and again due to lack of proportion, but I eventually get it.

Yeah, faces are tough. I went through folders-full of cringingly bad attempts before I finally felt more confident. All anatomy is like that, I find. But if you put a couple of pics up for criticism, you'll hopefully get some comments and tips that will boost your confidence.

Honestly, it's not much of noses or mouths I'm having trouble with. Eyes are such a pain to make. Either they're too big or small, or they're too round or almond-shaped. Shaping cheeks, foreheads, and chins are diffucult as well, but not enough to frustrate me. I've spent a couple of hours on a Bosmer's face just because I couldn't get the eyes or outlines right. It would look terrible if I had used a normal eraser, too.

Hm. I have a suggestion that might help with that - when you begin sketching the outline, do it extremely lightly, and use a hard pencil - H is good. It's like a sketch of a sketch - H pencils smudge far less than B ones so you'll have to use the eraser less. The same goes for shading - very lightly, experiement and map out the areas with an H, and once you've got your cheekbones, forehead and eyes to a proportion you're happy with, switch back to your B to finish the shading properly. This will significantly minimise smudging. Just remember not to press too hard with the H, because if you make a mistake it will be harder to get rid of the line.

Oh, I don't use normal erasers. They're extremely unreliable for drawing. I use a kneaded eraser, it gets out everything, literally, and leaves no stains or eraser shavings. Even better, it never really runs out.

Usually when I draw I don't erase much. When I get something wrong, I draw over it to make it better. After I reach a pretty good outline, I trace over the drawing using a light table. It's not cheating to trace your own work. :)

Then I refine it however much I need to, then place everything in the composition of the sheet (I like the 11" x 17" sheets of Bristol Board for final copies), and color it in as needed. Often times I do a color mock-up as well to make sure I have the colored pencil shading the right way. Like when you're doing an orange flavored drawing, a light layer of purple over the yellow and under the orange brings out the richness of the color.

The only Elder Scrolls drawing I have was not made with the method I described, I did this in my sketchbook.

I joined up today looking around for mods (imagine), but I saw this thread and thought I might ingratiate myself with the community by presenting... an artworks. Someday I'd like to break into design or concept work, and any excuse to delve into the complex doo-daddery of fantasy game drawing makes me salivate (It's good practice!). I apologise for the very rough state the image is in, it was just something I sketched out in the last hour or so as a way of saying hello.

Welcome to the fan fiction and RP forum then (also artwork now, I guess ;)) Have a fishy stick, and look around! Most everyone is very nice, and if you ever want to get into fan fictions or RPing myself and my friends here will be more than happy to help.

Nice drawing :) I especially like the sword handle and armor details.

When i draw, i usually go for broke on my first try. If i mess up a part, i get pissed off and start over.

A note on faces: I have trouble putting any form of emotion into them other than stern disapproval.

examples (both prospective characters for an upcoming RP):

Thank you. A pleasure to be welcomed. I don't write fan fiction and I've never role-played a day in my life, so I'd amount to so much rubbish.

On an unrelated note, I did another one while I was waiting for renders tonight. Drawing medieval fantasy stuff is contagious.

http://s190.photobucket.com/albums/z10/leecarey_2007/090731_133741.jpg A re-occuring RP character of mine who even has his own fanfiction, this picture is one of himself after becoming a vampire. Theres more to come, I have a WIP of him and how he currently looks (in RP's). The quality isnt great, the contrast of the picture is quite messed up because I used my phone to take the picture(my scanner isnt being friends with me)

I also have a WIP for a second character in my Fanfiction, Gabrielle, the vampire who is to blame for bringing Almerion into the world.

And I will be posting a finished piece of my character Tora, as soon as my bloody scanner starts being my friend.
