[RELz] Tamriel Rebuilt - Antediluvian Secrets #5

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 6:23 am

So I finally got around to playing TR1. Great work! Here is some stuff I noticed during my first day (mostly Firewatch and the surroundings). Most of it is me [censored]ing about things that could be done better, but there are a few real bugs here.

10/4/2010 (03:11) TR_Map1.esm 11/29/2008 (09:28) *** TR_bk_mapbook_m1_01 Firewatch, The Brazen Maiden, Cabin 3879 3671 14311 "The islands contain three major islands - this might or might not be good English, I'm not sure"
10/4/2010 (03:14) TR_Map1.esm 11/29/2008 (09:28) *** furn_imp_altar_01 Firewatch, Imperial Chapel 117 133 -384 "There are two Imperial Cult altars here, but only one is an activator. Shouldnt they both be in order to confuse less?"
10/4/2010 (03:16) TR_Map1.esm 11/29/2008 (09:28) *** TR_m1_FW_gateI2_door Firewatch (17,15) 144704 126432 372 "The whole place around here looks damn barren. Maybe some training stuff for the garrison wouldnt hurt, such as dummies or weapon racks? (As for me, I would prefer trees or plants, but I guess this would be too much a deviation from what this place is supposed to look like.)"
10/4/2010 (03:21) TR_Map1.esm 11/29/2008 (09:28) *** TR_m1_Gindaman00000000 Firewatch Palace, Guild of Mages 4352 4417 10306 "dialogue topic ADVANCEMENT: maybe 'a Evoker' should rather be 'an Evoker'"
10/4/2010 (03:26) TR_Map1.esm 11/29/2008 (09:28) *** TR_m1_Grazgob_groMuzbog00000000 Firewatch, Grazgob gro-Muzbog's House 33 -248 3 "His greeting misspells %PCName as &PCName."
10/4/2010 (03:41) TR_Map1.esm 11/29/2008 (09:28) *** apparatus_m_mortar_01 Nassudan 3164 5632 12698 "Isnt this too easy to get? I guess I could walk here with level 5."
10/4/2010 (04:08) TR_Map1.esm 11/29/2008 (09:28) *** TR_m1_FW_gateI2_door Firewatch (17,15) 144704 126432 372 "Maybe the message should explicitly tell WHY the gate is barred. Everyone playing post-2003 CRPGs is used to town gates closing at night, but I suppose you want to make TR accessible to those whose computer is just enough for Morrowind, as well as those who find playing anything that came out after MW a waste of time."
10/4/2010 (04:09) TR_Map1.esm 11/29/2008 (09:28) *** TR_m1_DroBa00000000 Firewatch Palace, Guild of Fighters -297 -244 -382 "His greeting should end with a full stop."
10/4/2010 (04:13) TR_Map1.esm 11/29/2008 (09:28) *** TR_m1_Merdon_Dillmoon00000000 Firewatch, Merdon Dillmoon's Manor 6402 3362 15298 "Another NPC with a greeting that should end with a full stop but doesn't."
10/4/2010 (04:29) TR_Map1.esm 11/29/2008 (09:28) *** in_de_ship_cabindoor Firewatch, The Silver Serpent: Private Area 4284 3686 14800 "This is lock-and-trapped... from the inside. Similar to the Prelude shipwreck in MW - that was fixed by the MWPP."

Also, my save got kind of corrupted at some point: each time I try to load it, I get the message
"Copying ClonedContainer chest_01_v_potion_al020000...(some zeroes)1. Save game may contain invalid data."
However, I click Yes and don't see any negative effects on game. The corruption first occured at a time when I was doing some stuff in Firewatch, but I'm not sure anymore what exactly it was. Maybe it will tell anything to you; if not, ignore it - it's probably me using a quicksave.

Make sure you are using the latest version (the version that came bundled with Antediluvian Secrets), and also, please report all errors at their appropriate locations on our forums. Otherwise they won't be fixed.

By the nine...

... the things you people are doing out there... it's almost enough to make me cry.

And then I remember I'm a burly, tough-guy Imperial Soldier... and my every fiber begins to swell with pride.

What a fine, fine Empire.

I must say something about the music I've added to game earlier today.

I'm really impressed by that music in the TR_remastered mod and I love it every second of it. Excellent gaming harmony.

Thanks haplobartow and the rest of TR-team for this awesome mod. :celebration:

Which happens to be an impossibility for me as I can't seem to get registration confirmation so I can report a quest error I've run into... Its not getting placed into my spam folder, I'm just never getting anything at all.

Dayum - that is some really nice work. BTW - was that Vivec about halfway through? (I thought I saw the Ministry of Truth?) For some reason, I thought the sea was wider between the mainland and Vvardenfell.

That was simply stunning. Stunning and amazing. Stunning and amazing and beautiful.

I watched that with a smile on my face and couldn't believe what I was seeing as it went on. And on. And on. I knew TR was a huge undertaking but seeing that video made me realise that not only are the TR team doing it they are doing it with craftsmanship. Masterwork craftsmanship.

Thank you for posting that, it made my day :)

It says the video has been removed by the user. What did I miss!? :shakehead:

Edit: And now it works. And it has (familiar) music! :D

Edit 2: 10 minutes of pure awesome. The part with Vivec in it was also a nice way to get the current position on the map back into my head!

Also, the simple bland landscape of the Firemoth island sticks out like a sore thumb compared to the mainland. :D

I'm really stunned with this video. :touched:

You and the TR-team must have listen to povuholo's advice to use that music in your videos I was earlier referring to. It's just awesome. :D

I really don't like Firemoth, myself. I just included it for the sake of completeness, because the landmass in the plugin is canon or something :/

Making notes as I watch:
3:45- That Indoril fortress is so cool. Seriously.
7:10- Old Ebonheart! Old Ebonheart!
8:10- Woah. I've never seen that city before. What's it called? I really love those waterfalls.
9:40- Ooh, the first Redoran settlement.

All in all, awesome.

3:45- Ayemar, our northernmost Indoril settlement.
7:10- Old Ebonheart really is a beacon of Imperial awesomeness (I never really liked the Imperial locations on Vvardenfell very much)
8:10- Andothren, a Hlaalu port on the inner sea coast. (I did that region!)
9:40- Kartúr. I'm not entirely sure this one will be in the Heartland release but rather the Véloth one. Regardless, it's a pretty awesome place.

Yes, 0:00-10:14 is definitely my favourite part.

The video is stunning! The work You guys doing on TR is still amazing me ;)

By the way, is there a possibility to contribute in this project? I can make some random interiors in the wilderness, so there's is more to do on the mainland. Any ideas?

Head to the http://www.tamriel-rebuilt.org/forum/ and you can find instructions on how to create a Showcase and join the TR team.
