Tamriel Rebuilt - Antediluvian Secrets #6

Probably the same way you go there... swim or levitate.
You can also cast Divine Intervention from Ranyon-ruhn, and you will be sent to Wolverine Hall in Sadrith Mora.

This is true to Lore, by the way. People are not allowed to freely travel between Vvardenfell and the mainland, for fear of spreading the Blight.
But at the same time, you have to consider business trades. How is Vvardenfell supposed to do business with the outside world? So there needs to be ships coming in and out. Especially if you're using NOM because all those imperial imported foods. They come from Cyrodiil and the only way to get them to Vvardenfell is via ship.

That's an issue with NOM. All non VVardenfell food should be rare before Dagoth Ur falls and the Blight storms end. The Lore suggests an effective quarantine which really would mean exactly what Pluto suggests....no free movement. Probably the reason the pirate activity is so high (and somewhat tolerated) on the island.

I'd love to see all the TR maps converted to Skyrim when the day comes. The copyrighted part of Morrowind, i.e. Vvardenfell, is long gone by the time the Skyrim saga begins, so no problem here.

They say Skyrim is getting a really fast engine...

?
All of Morrowind's files and resources are copyrighted.... not just the island of Vvardenfell.

True. I was thinking that the imported foods should not be so abundant. NOM has lots of indiginous foods and meals but there are things like corn, onions, etc... You could argue that shipments come once in a great while but only to certain docks, like Seyda Neen and Ebonheart. And from there, they are shipped by wagon or carriage to the other towns like Pelagiad, Vivec, Balmora, etc... Pelagiad is an imperial town but they need to be corresponding with Cyrodiil at least. And with that, letters and packages must be delivered via ships. I suppose in theory they could teleport from Cyrodiil to Vvardenfell but not teleport out unless the mage was super skilled and could use mark and recall for that distance, although I'm not sure how that spell works exactly.
This sounds like it belongs in the lore thread.

Hello Bethesda Softworks -
I know I will buy Skyrim Collectors Edition when it comes out. Since you already committed a release date, it will likely not be free of bugs. This will be no big deal, however. I reckon I will stay another year or two in Morrowind :celebration:

Even if Skyrim has a fixed release date dosen't mean its going to be filled with bugs. TES games are preety clean. On the other hand TR hasn't committed a release date but it's going to take more than 2 years to finish so hopefully you'll stay in MW a bit longer.

Hey, eh... just a quick question, no offence, I'm a big fan of your work so far and therefor only say this hopping for it to be a bit more realistic: Its just that Vvardenfall (Red Mt.) was the home of the dwemer, right? To me it just seems a bit strange that so many ruins on TR is 20 times bigger. Am I wrong when I think Vvardenfall was the dwemers home? If no, then why did you decide to make the ruins so gigantic?

I'm not particularly well acquainted with Morrowind lore, but I remember reading in the ingame book, Kemel Se something or other, and it stated that though it was partially submerged, it is supposed to be the largest of all the dwemer ruins found. The book also said it was on the mainland, as it is in TR. Just from that book alone, I'm thinking Vvardenfall wasn't the only or even the main home of dwemer.

The Dwemer were also in Hammerfell, and from what we've heard, Skyrim.

Sure I have no problem with Lore-wise gigantic dwemer ruins... and I think the main problem is that Vvardenfalls ruins were to small... but Red Mt. gotta have been their main home, its there they found a gods heart, its there they became gods, and its there they fought their final battle... and I said I only thought it was their base...

The whole of Vvardenfell was a giant Dwemer city. However...

1) Vvardenfell exploded at least once. This would have taken out the vast majority of the ruins in/around Red Mountain, and sealed off parts of the rest.
2) Vvardenfell was the center of metaphysical reality distorting forces at least once. Can't have them heretical Dwemer all up on our holy ground.
3) Vvardenfell was made 9 years ago. Even Tribunal, made a little while later, shows much grander design in its Dwemer ruin. A lot of stuff in TR is simply more 'epic' than what is found on Vvardenfell, both to give our modders more creative freedom and to keep the mod current.

The game Morrowind was made 9 years ago, is what I think was meant.
