Tamriel Rebuilt - Antediluvian Secrets #6

Yes, Houses Indoril and Dres will be getting their own playable faction, quests and stronghold questline. Houses Hlaalu, Telvanni and Redoran will be getting their own questlines, but no new player strongholds.

...that's so cool. Haha.

Are they any new factions? I thought i read somewhere about Boethiah having one or something?

Yes! Modeling and quest creation and implementation are probably our two big bottlenecks at the moment, in respective order.

I'm not much for pushing vertices but after seven years with TESCS, I do know my way around scripting/quests/etc, if that interests you. Should I sign up on the TR forums and start posting?

Sure, create a Showcase thread with a little plug-in showing what you can do in that regard. There are a few stickied threads to read if you have questions on it, I think.

Are there going to be independent guild quest lines for every region or are the guilds (and other factions) going to be one big chunk of quests in the final release?

It would be fine if each area had its own set of local quests, and you could get some of the starting House quests and a few early promotions with each release, with the final House and mainland Guild quest missions being added after their entire regions are complete. In other words, it would be good to see a completed Telvanni questline well before the final mainland sections are done.

If Skyrim turns out to be nothing more than a simple "hack and slash" game, which it's starting to look like, that could boost interest in TR again, after the initial hysteria and curiosity over the new game have run their courses.

Guilds will probably have quests tailored to their local areas, although it would not be uncommon to travel a bit for a few of them.

Does that mean I could finally legally wear Ordinator Armor?

I believe that Ordinators only reside in Vivec, hired by the Temple as guards. In that sense, their armour will always be "illegal."

But, this point of Lore seems flexible, so perhaps in TR's House Indoril the Ordinators will be prevalent everywhere, and by joining House Indoril you are free to wear the armour.

Ordinator armor is not Indoril armor, so no, being a member of House Indoril has no bearing on whether you can wear Ordinator armor.

Hey there. This work looks absolutely amazing. I am curious however, about progress on House Dres. They're somewhat one of my favourite Great Houses. I'm actually writing a fan fiction on it now, centred around Varis Dren (see my sig for the thread itself). Because of this, I'd love to actually be involved in the Dres work somehow. I can do basic Construction Set work, if I had the resources to display the correct building architecture. So, whatever models you come up with for the region I guess. I mean, I can do interiors and stuff, but I'm not particularly experienced. I never practiced too much. I'm useless at scripting too, unfortunately. My real forte is writing however.

If you want me to do dialogue, I'll do my best. I can also churn out a stream of Dres related literature, from notes on slave import/exports, to reports on saltrice harvests, stories, histories on the Deshann Planes, secret handbooks on the worship of the Anticipations instead of the Tribunal (worship of Boethiah primarily) and any other assortment of stuff that needs doing. Also, if you let me flail away at an attempt to create the plantation I wrote about, I'd be extremely grateful. :P

I just read through it, and it was enjoyable.
I'm definitely looking forward to seeing House Dres in Morrowind, and I certainly wouldn't mind if you were working on it. :)

That reminds me, actually.
I'm modelling a Dres building for my showcase at the moment, and I need to do more work on that.

I've been following TR since it started, and I'm quite exited about it! I've often thought of learning some extra modding skills and join, maybe I will if you plan on doing a TR for Skyrim! But I look forward to the rest of the landmass of Morrowind being released, thank you very much for all the time, effort, skill, energy and creativity that you made available for this awesome project. Friends of mine often said that you would not make it to finish MW, but I still believe you will.

Thanks a lot for everyone involved!

You're welcome :) & thanks, just put it there today. It's where it all started for me (and thousands of other people), and it still is a magical place to me: Seyda Neen!

Nemon, those are awesome screens of map 4! Indeed, like SirB said, very Skyrim-like! I like the tower standing there in the snowy landscape, with a flame burning on top of it!

Well... I got a few questions involving future TR stuff...
1. Are you planing on creating shrines (and shrine quests) to some of the other Daedric princes?
2. Are you planing on creating other sets of armor?... the things I've seen so far are mostly completions of other sets (witch were of great quality by the way)...
3. (Couldn't find any details on this on your page) when do you think map ones mainquest will be reliezed?
4. Are you planing on creating more artifacts?

btw, great work so far...

1: The other daedric princes have no presence in morrowind, so no. We made statues and had shrines for a while, but then learned those were not supposed to be there.
2: Yes there is more armor other than finishing other sets. what there is is what there will be though.
3: Map 1 doesn't have a main quest anymore. Instead that effort is going towards the telvanni house line. (main quests for arbitrary borders never made sense)
4: We probably should. I could see them appearing after the fact though.

thanks, glad you are enjoying it.
