[RELz] Tamriel Rebuilt: Map 1 - Telvannis

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 10:56 am

Use this: "Journal TR_m1_PT_SlaveTrade 50"

And if you could, please make a post regarding this error (lack of finishing the quest if you're refused) in the TR forum's Quest Error Reporting Thread. (You don't need to register to post) That means we definitely won't miss it when making fixes.

I downloaded this and map 2 for the first time a few days ago. From the little I've seen so far, they're amazing -- they really do feel like something Bethesda could have made.

Anyway, I've got a question that I can't find the answer to: is there anywhere to sleep in Port Telvannis? I've been looking, and I've got the NOM compatibility mod installed, but I can't find anything. As I use NOM, being unable to sleep anywhere is an issue. :/

Indeed, there are no inns or any other accommodation available to visitors in Port Telvannis. You can camp in the "root tunnel" to the north-west, leading to Yashazmus and the Sadas Plantation.

I had no problem sleeping in one of the bunks on the upper floor of The Avenue.

There's also a pod house at the extreme opposite end of the city where the occupant isn't going to need a bed anymore.

I tried that, but all the beds seemed to be owned. I'm tempted to whip up a personal use .esp that lets me rent a bed there at an exorbitant price, but so far my laziness has gotten the better of me.

Haven't gotten to that quest, yet!

hello , back again in morrowind ... sorta

i saw that TR map 1 and TR map 2 had been released so i downloaded them and i have to say that i am very impressed so far. the layout of the land seems like Bethesda themselves droped all the rocks and trees into place. great job TR team.

so now i sorta have a question or 2

while looking around in TR map 1 it seemed to me that there are less leveled creatures per cell then the original game. i was doing a lot of walking and not much fighting at all even when i stoped following any roads. the bitter coast seems to have average 4 leveled creatures per cell and west gash about 5 per cell. (again this is an average . some cells only have 1 while others have 8). when i checked TR map 1 there only seems to be about 2 leveled creatures per cell.

anyone else think the creatures in TR map 1 are too far and too few ?

anyone know if piratelord is going to do a TR creatures mod ?

i would just like to end this post with another upbeat "great job TR team !"

Here are my first impressions after exploring the northern parts and Telvanni Islands for a couple of days. Using TR1 and TR2 btw, so I have the latest version I think.

First, the exteriors are excellent. They look "natural" but also quite often unique. Nicely detailed. The same goes for the Daedric shrine, Dwemer ruins, caves and Ancestral tombs I've checked out. In short - the quality overall is exceptional. As for quests I've only started/done some short ones so can't really comment upon them, except that they seem to work fine.

Some nitpicks:

Butterflies - I have Butterflies in Vvardenfell as well (from Creatures X?) and they work fine. The Butterflies in TR are quite odd however. They either fly in slow motion - or not at all (i.e. just hangs in the air "freezed").

Adamintium Dagger - I've never liked Adamintium so I should perhaps not comment on it, but for one thing it looks too large for a dagger IMO. Anyway, it clips through the fingers of my char (Better Bodies).

Daedric Naginata - Looks nice plus it was a cool twist to get it. I have a weird minor issue with it, though, namely that the blade (a part of it anyway) flicker. No idea what it might be.

Fort in Bal Oyra - (I think it was there anyway...) I have jaggies on the wall (down the middle).

Outside Ranyon-Ruhn - I have an ugly texture seam.

Note how small the nitpicks are. ;)

Anyway, it's very fun just to adventure around so far. I'm sort of amazed by how this amount of quantity can have such high quality overall. Many thanks to all involved in this gargantuan project.

Now, to nitpick your nitpicks.

The whole post

We have error reporting threads (as we've mentioned at least a few times in each incarnation of this release thread) in which we ask you to post your error reports... instead of here.

Butterflies - I have Butterflies in Vvardenfell as well (from Creatures X?) and they work fine. The Butterflies in TR are quite odd however. They either fly in slow motion - or not at all (i.e. just hangs in the air "freezed").

We don't have any butterflies in TR, if you see any butterflies they are from another mod.

Adamintium Dagger - I've never liked Adamintium so I should perhaps not comment on it, but for one thing it looks too large for a dagger IMO. Anyway, it clips through the fingers of my char (Better Bodies).

Our weapons are modeled to fit vanilla body hands and grips, so if you use Better Bodies, which presumably changes the hands somewhat, the weapons cannot be guaranteed to work correctly.

Daedric Naginata - Looks nice plus it was a cool twist to get it. I have a weird minor issue with it, though, namely that the blade (a part of it anyway) flicker. No idea what it might be.

Not really sure about this, it's pretty vague

Fort in Bal Oyra - (I think it was there anyway...) I have jaggies on the wall (down the middle).

Again... jaggies...? Specify? (not here though)

Outside Ranyon-Ruhn - I have an ugly texture seam.

Using any texture replacers?

I'd also like to underline that I'm amazed by the quality overall. I've just started a bunch of Telvanni quests in Port Telvannis (which is awesome in itself) - and they are well-written. Interesting personalities as well. In fact, I'm only pointing out odd details because everything else is perfection.

Further note on the Butterflies. They are beautiful btw. I happened upon a couple of them that behaved as they should. Fought some baddies and then I saw another butterfly - that was "frozen" midair. So they seem a bit fidgety? Or it might be just on my rig - I don't know.

I?ve finally made it to explore a little deeper into the northern parts of Map 1 (before I just were in Firewatch and a little around it, but was too busy playing vanilla MW again), and I have to say, I?m totally amazed by your work. Especially the cities are just awesome, the layout is great, it really feels like being in Morrowind. I hope all your modders know what a perfect work they have delivered, it?s just breathtaking. Some of the dungeons I looked in were very nice also. And all the details, like the underwater dwemer ruin or the Silk Strider bar (forgot it?s name) in Ranyon Ruhn, it?s all so beautifully planned, who came up with such cool ideas? True genius. I can?t imagine how many hours of work must have gone into this uber-mod (just all the books that must have been written by you, some of them are a great read!). I?ve seen only the cities of Firewatch, Tel Ouada, Ranyon Ruhn and Bal Oyra by now, their quality is better than most of the vanilla cities! Everything's just a little greater and looks more powerful to me. I can?t wait to explore the rest of Telvannis. I think it?ll be some time before I return to Vvardenfell ;). As I said in another thread, I can?t wait for the MQ to be implemented. Any news on that front?
So I hope you have enough modders left to finish the rest of the province, if it?s just half as good as what I?ve seen until now, it has to be great. So this goes to you:

If you think those cities are great... wait until you find Port Telvannis! A veritable maze of mushrooms and towers and house pods await you there :-P

yeah, I'm repeatedly getting the same opinion :)
Everything, from every angle, with or without the help of MGE looks just stunning, I decided not to post in Scenic Screenshots thread just because I really don't have the time and will to select a few best pics from hundreds taken in your beautiful expansions.

I'm playing and enjoying maps 1 and 2 altoghether with Mge, and the experience is more than just awesome. Great exploring days you gave us, TR team! I get never tired of the new cities/dungeons/landscapes!
I hope to see Necrom and expanded Almalexia this year :) I like big cities ;) very much.

I can't think of names off the top of my head, but when I played through map 1, I found several dungeons that didn't have anything in them at all except a couple mundane creatures. Will things be added to these dungeons, or are some of them just for show?

Also, will the player ever get a chance to get a full suit of Daedric Hide armor? A full suit would be amazing: that armor is IMO the best-looking armor added by TR.

Some are for show, some are fillers, some will have added content.

Daedric Hide will remain quite rare, although we plan on adding some more pieces as the maps are released. We talked about having a special smith for the armor but that was shot down for various reasons. A full suit is possible in Map 1, however. You just have to kill certain very powerful and essential people. Or successfully pickpocket them.

No need to rush it ;). I?m just following the roads and see what comes up. I will save me Port Telvannis for when I have seen everything else, so it will be the grand finale :). Today I visited Alt Bosara (very beautiful waterfall, cool city), Llotharis and the cave villages Ashamu and Savannis (the mole crab farm - I hope I spelled all the names right, guess not). Again, I liked every bit I?ve seen :). And sometimes just great details: like a lonely man on an island in the middle of a sea, just a small hut built out of wood, a bedroll and some stuff. Sadly, he had no dialouge, I wondered if he was stranded or anything... So I?m curious what wonders will come up next ;)

I'm hoping at some point there will be a legitimate, quest-friendly way of obtaining a full suit...the guy that has the most on him (in Yashazmus I think) had nearly a complete set. How does daedric hide compare to glass armor as far as AR goes? Just wondering.

Could you be more specific, and possible report this error in our error reporting section at TR's website? For example, quote the error log if an error was recorded for this CTD. Also, what kind of sound? Was it a sound from your speakers or was it a sound from your desktop tower?
