[RELz] Tamriel Rebuilt: Map 1 - Telvannis

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 3:23 am

I've, er... not actually been around the TR map yet.
Are there different regions types in it?

What I mean is, is it all fairly temperate or are there swampy/ashy areas also?
I'm wondering if it is worth making and placing ashy/swampy version of my signs for TR.

This applies to map #2 and future TR mods too, I guess.

The landscapes I have seen so far use West Gash, Azura's Coast and Grazelands textures and meshes (rocks, trees). No ashlands, and no swamps AFAIK.

I've had Map 1 installed for a while with no problems, other than I haven't explored it much :hehe:, but recently when I tried to load a game with Map 1 selected in the data files, I get this error message-

Expression Error Unable to find cell id "Yashazmus" in script TR_m1_GS_MQ_5_WrapUp.

followed by a CTD. I'm not sure why I've never encountered this problem before, nor am I sure of what's causing it. I've poked around the CS and haven't found anything that looks out of place.

Does anyone have any ideas on what's wrong?

Yashazmus hasn't been renamed, and you can't find what's wrong in the CS? This can mean only one thing: landmass conflict. One of your other mods affect the cell where Yashazmus is (that's (39, 18) if you want to know) and gives it another name.

Edit: Easiest way to find out the culprit might be to use the console. Type COE 39 18 and you will be transported in the cell that should be Yashazmus. If its name isn't a clue sufficient to identify the mod, target things here and there and use the console command ORI on them; normally a good part will be from Tamriel Rebuilt but you should find some references put there by that other mod.

Yeah, Map 1 and Map 2 landscapes are a creative mix of vanilla West Gash, Azura's Coast and Grazelands textures (and that creative use of textures makes them unique). AFAIR, some rock models are TR-made though. Ashlands and Bitter Coast textures and models will come in the next maps.

Could you be more specific, and possible report this error in our error reporting section at TR's website? For example, quote the error log if an error was recorded for this CTD. Also, what kind of sound? Was it a sound from your speakers or was it a sound from your desktop tower?

its the fighters guild mission 3 or 4 at firewatch, the sound is so brutal and game crash without report, always after speaking with an high elf female at a tavern(she is in the thieves guild) whem my pc goes to her for obtaining information in that quest, so sorry for my bad memory, but after 3 identical crashes with that horrible sound i never went to firewatch again :(

Unfortunately, the nature of this bug is so 'extreme' that it is impossible we would have allowed it to slip past us easily. We will need some more information, of the kind that Haplo recommended, if we are to get to the bottom of this.

This.

Just download Map 2, and you should have everything you will need. (And a more up to date version of Map 1, to boot)

I'm not exactly sure what you found rude to be quite honest, all he was saying, is that any bug that causes a direct crash, especially when quest or dialogue related is a severe bug that should have been caught during initial beta testing, therefore it is an 'extreme' bug, especially if it is not isolated to your particular setup of mods in your game. They need as much information as possible on to your location, ok, we know the city, but what interior, what is the name of the npc that you are trying to get information from ect. This information will help them identify if it is a missing/malfunctioning script, missing dialogue topic or whatever is causing the crash, they aren't being crass, they are trying to help you have a more enjoyable time in their laboriously created mod(which just happens to be huge and hard to fully test for bugs on their own without a helpful community).

Its like this, if a doctor goes into a stadium filled with 50,000 spectators and one of them says hey, theres a guy choking here in this noisy stadium, but they don't tell the doctor where in the stadium to look, then the guy that is choking isn't being helped at all, but if they say, there is a guy choking up in row 12 section B, the guy has now has a chance to be saved.........horrible anology I know, but its the best I could think of.

The Crustacean's did not seem rude to me at all either. Just a small misunderstanding here it seems... Blame the internet :)

@matilija: I tested Map 1 a lot of times before the public release, and never experienced an error like you had; so it could be related to your mod list, or even your system specs. Try to post as many informations as you can (your mod list, your system specs, if you changed something in both your mod list or hardware, etc.), and we'll try to figure out what's causing it, if possible.

Does advancing in guild ranks and/or doing certain quests from Map 1 increase the player's reputation?

Yep, so it does. Most quests do, in fact. You can check how much by doing a search for ModReputation in the CS.

Just curious: in Morrowind, there is a limit to player's reputation increase or not? Asking because I'm just wondering how much my PC's reputation could increase with all the TR's quests completed, when all the maps will be available.

I don't think there is a limit. Though the reason I state this is because I've cheated it higher so I don't have to deal with weirdos and playa' hate'a's. Perhaps without cheating there is a limit. However, I doubt Bethesda thought of this when they were designing the game. To cap the reputation. They instead probably realized the implications of packaging the construction set with the game, and how many quests could be completed. If it was intended to be an open ended game then player development should have been planned to be unlimited. However, there is the sad case of the caps imposed on levels, attributes and skills. These caps would imply otherwise, that at some level reputation is maxed out.

I heard the number 255 being mentioned as a limit once I think... I'm not sure if that's actually true though.

That's true. The limit is 255.

Edit: I can't remember the correct code for increasing reputation through the console, sorry. Just in case you might want to try it.

I believe it's simply "player-> pcraisereputation X" or "player-> setreputation X"
