[WIP] Tamriel Rebuilt - Sacred East

New Thread!

Tamriel Rebuilt
-- Morrowind --

Tamriel Rebuilt aims to recreate "Mainland Morrowind" as Bethesda would have, had they included it in the third Elder Scrolls game. TR uses a combination of imagination and lore to bring you new areas to explore, new secrets to discover, and allowing a host of new adventures to unfold. Download our latest release, Antediluvian Secrets, at the bottom of this post.

http://www.tamriel-rebuilt.org/
We are currently very close to finishing Sacred East, and are wrapping up the quests in the area now. Once this is finished, we'll test it ourselves for a short period, and then... well, you know the rest of the story ;) Sacred East will feature some of the most lush terrain seen anywhere on Morrowind yet! With dense jungles, sparkling rivers, and impressive plantations, Sacred East will be an adventure into the frontier of a previously-unexplored frontier: the lands of Great House Indoril. The Indoril may be known as the pious and religious among all the Great Houses, but they are not immune to terror, and it will be up to you to unravel the mysteries plaguing Almalexia's favored, as they call themselves. Prepare yourself for amazement, intrigue, and more than a little cross-country backpacking!

Tamriel Rebuilt needs questers! Not just people to design quests, but the people who actually create them in the CS and often create scripts to go alongside them. We are anxious to bring you the latest release, but are a bit short on this type of modder. The ability to work in a team, and forgo any dreams of grand "Wrath of the Lich King"-type quest ideas and implementations are necessary for such work, along with a sense for the type of lore-based dialogue that we write. If anyone here wants to help TR bring Sacred East to the public sooner, please visit our board's Showcase forum and post a thread showing a bit of what you know about questing and a line about this "help wanted" blurb. Don't forget to register at the forum before you try, if you haven't already!

I wish I had more free time!
I would love to contribute, and quest writing is my favourite part of modding.
If I do find the time, TR will be my first plan :)

Kogotel is on "map 5" by the old standards of dividing our areas. As of now it's on the "Velothi" release, after Sacred East, Almalexia and the Heartlands. It will not be released as a fully NPC'ed and quested mod for a while, due to us choosing to redo two thirds of our exterior work from 2003-2008. However, we are discussing the thought of releasing an alpha consisting of exteriors and interiors from all these locations, at least I'm pretty eager to realize such a release some time this year. We'll see how it turns out...

The biggest issue is having decent NPCs and quests, our exteriors are being made at a tremendous pace, as well as our interiors.

Many people would be happy to have the landmass to explore.. even with no NPC's or quests. ;)

if anything its a walk in the countryside with a sword sim.

I'm so excited to finally be able to explore map 3 in it's entirety! If I was better at making quests I'd help, but I still have a lot to learn there.

Good luck everyone!

Actualy after the old map division Almalexia is map 3. After the new one Sacred East is 3, Almalexia is 4, Heartland is 5, Véloth is 6, Narsis is 7 and Dres is 8.

Why is this release coming with quests while the last release did not?

Because we decided that it was better to release parts with quests rather than having nothing for the player to do.

That's awesome. Rven I don't play much and very often just "sightsee", I'm usually conciously aware of when a mod doesn't have quests or worse...dialogue. Even if I don't do them, I just like knowing they are there. Oh, and yes I know I'm weird.

With the release of Sacred East, will Antediluvian Secrets be updated as well (Quest-wise, like the Mainland Telvanni factions)?

Yes, the next release should include quests for Antediluvian Secrets, unless something goes horribly, horribly wrong.

Does this mean we will finally uncover the secrets of Kemel-Ze? Will there be a questline involved with this epic dwemer ruin?

So the last one was a change in policy to no quest and now you have rethought that policy? Just want to be clear.

There never was a no quest policy but rather a shortage of questers that would meant huge delays if Antediluvian Secrets was to wait for quests. Actualy both Antediluvian Secrets and Sacred East were part of the original map 2 but it was decided to split them up rather than wait for 2 and a half or maybe 3 years and release them together

Sorry, Alex is a bit confused. Our old policy, pursuant to our old map numbering system (1 through 6, of which Telvannis and Antediluvian Secrets were a part), did indeed state that we would release version 1.0 with exteriors, interiors, NPCs, and dialogue; no quests. Quests used to be a 2.0 release. Now, however, we are striving to include at least miscellaneous quests with our initial release of new areas, in order to give players something to do beyond exploring.

Interesting. What is going on then with Antediluvian, is there a 2.0 coming out soon and does Sacred east have only misc quests, approx how many?

I don't have a number on Sacred East quests, but if you'll take a look at previous news postings, you'll find we changed our release structure a while ago so that all of our releases are merged into a single file. That way you won't have to play TR_map1.esm and TR_map2.esm and TR_map3.esm et cetera, only TR_Mainland.esm.

So does that mean a the middle portion of the map is questless?
