Summerset Isles I

In the city of Skywatch, an undead horde has risen and begun terrorizing the Altmer there. It's believed the Sload are responsible for the activities.
The Psijic Order is quick to respond to the citizens of Skywatch, saying: "We will deal with the Sload attacks. Their practice of Necromancy is distasteful as well as a nuisance. We have mages searching the coast in hopes of finding and eliminating them once and for all."

However, there have been no recent sightings of mystics, mages, wizards, or spellcasters bearing the Psijic Order seal since these statements were made. Until then, citizens in Skywatch have reacted by barricading their city and enchanting it's borders with powerful spells to repel the undead until a move can be made against the Sload.

Morrowind/Vvardenfell A

The Great House Redoran, still warring feverently with the Nords of Skyrim, have become a weak yet determined House. The Nords have hired Orc mercenaries to aid them in their conflict with House Redoran. Having become a common-place refuge for escaped slaves from Morrowind or Vvardenfell, Winterhold, lying on the eastern border of Skyrim, has allied itself with House Redoran in return for land and payment. The Orc made quick work of the Redoran champions during the battle of Blacklight. (Blacklight being a city under Redoran rule.) However, having retreated to it's sturdy foundations, they managed to hold the Orc in their place until allies from Winterhold and Windhelm could attack from the rear. Winterhold and Windhelm, being the only allies of the Redoran on enemy soil, is at high risk of being wiped out by Skyrim's army altogether.

Black Marsh I

The Orma, once thought eradicated by the Knahaten Flu, have been spotted by Argonian scouts near Blackrose and Lilmoth. This discovery has lead the Argonian councilmen to believe that the Orma may have retreated into the southern seas for safety. The serpent-like race is quick, agile, and extremely deceptive. It is advised by Argonian officials, that all citizens of Black Marsh arm themselves. The Orma have yet to be seen as a threat. Still, they advise everyone it's better to be safe than sorry.

Skyrim A

The Redguards and Bretons are still openly hostile with the Nords of Skyrim. Skyrim swallowed much of the land of both provinces, resulting in disputes, which lead to war. Most of the fighting occurs in Jehenna and Elinhir. In Elinhir, the Redguard are openly hostile with the Skyrim city of Falkreath. With the aid of Solitude, they have managed to defeat most attacks made by Redguard rebels and Breton spellslingers. However, an ongoing struggle between Winterhold and Windhelm v.s Solitude threatens to weaken the influential city.

What You'll be Doing

As you can see there are three active provinces you'll be allowed to rp in. This is represented by the (A) beside each province.
Inactive provinces have the (I) beside them. Your job will be to pick a province and work together in solving the issue. There are things to remember however. If you roleplay a Nord in Skyrim battling the defenses of Blacklight in Morrowind, and someone esle roleplays the opposite, clearly your objectives will be different. Therefore, I'll update military, resource, and morale status of provinces/cities/armies, and allow the rper's to decide which is the more likely to win. Please don't allow your armies to victor over another if you've went three weeks on hard rations, your weapons are dull and rusty, and you've attacked with 20 men v.s one thousand. Be realistic in this aspect. Yes I know, this is similar to ImmortBlood's rp, however the goals are different. After reading their rp I found it was mostly undead armies and war. This a goal oriented rp. The main objective won't always be to kill one another. I'll post a link of a map of the above mentioned provinces. So the rper's can be aware of whats going on.

Available Factions
Fighters Guild - I
Mages Guild - I
Commona Tong - A On Vvardenfell, Skyrim has agents working through the Commona Tong to increase their financial shares and gain some sort of ground from within Morrowind. Just as the Elves have done with Winterhold
Morag Tong - A Players may rp as assassins hired by officials to kill "unwanteds" or enemies. Players may not use the Morag Tong to kill one another. Players rping as officials, with my permission, may hire the Morag Tong to eliminate officials of another faction/province.
Thieves Guild - A You may rp as a thief hired to steal documents or important items from rival factions. Players, with my permission, may also hire the Thieves Guild to steal important documents from rival factions or officials.

Great Houses:

Redoran - A Characters are allowed to rp as Redoran warriors, nobles, etc. defending Blacklight from the Nords and Orcs. Or simply a noble in Morrowind trying to balance and revitalize the demoralized faction.
Hlaalu - I
Telvanni - A The Tevlanni have actually taken advantage of the weakened status of the Redoran. Still dealing with the daedra, they have slowly amassed a militia to capture land once owned by the Redoran. They've grown hostile towards House Inodril, the Legion, and Bouyant Armigers of the Temple. They're considered extremely hostile. The Legion cannot intervene.
Dres - A House Dres has made dealings with Commona Tong to strengthen their morale and increase manpower. Permission to rp as a Dres member is granted.
Indoril - A The Indoril have grown suspicious of underground activities between House Dres and local Nordic merchants who've recently taken residence in the St. Olms canton in Vivec. Player may rp as members of House Indoril.
House Dibella - A A House created by the Nords to worship beauty. Being the sphere of Dibella. This house is responsible for trafficking supplies to the frontline effort in capturing Winterhold and defeating the Redoran of Blacklight.

(Any players rping as House members, you will not be allowed to have any rank similar to that of Grandmaster, Archmagister, etc... whilst being a member of this rp.)

Factions marked with (I) are inactive for the time being. Either their role is irrelevant at this time, or it would simply add to the confusion. Factions will be added as the rp progresses so remember to keep your eye out for this.

Rules:

*No spamming, trolling, flaming
*No character control or killing unless you've contacted me with information and have made a verbal agreement with the other person stating that you have permission to kill their character.

*No one-liners.
*Make sure your grammar, spelling, and punctualization are at least decent enough to read.
*This rp is open to anyone. (provided they follow the above mentioned rules)
*No daedra, vampire, lycanthropsy

You may rp an adventurer, mercenary, someone within the Psijic Order, a citizen of Skywatch trying to defend it from the undead. A Nord of Skyrim. Basically, any character that may be involved or play a role in the advancement of each ACTIVE province and the goals underlined and once again MENTIONED ABOVE. The Oblivion Chrisis has just ended. Exclude Shivering Isles from this rp. Chancellor Ocato holds the seat of power over Tamriel for the time being.

However, as he constantly saw his father go off to battle against renegade clans, he began studying politics and the great political meetings in history so that when he became King, his people would not see constant war.
At the age of sixteen, his father was killed in battle and Agran was on the throne earlier than anybody had expected, but he quickly proved competent, as he led his men out the next campaign season, and quashed the rebellious clans on his Kingdms borders, and made alliances with two other clans that shared borders with Riften, securing trade and military assistance in times of mutual need.
Though war always rears its head every now and then, Agran has managed to keep Riften and its neighbors at peace for most of his 32 year reign at the throne, and now that problems are coming again, he plans on moving up from being a relatively small kingdom in Skyrim, to becoming a notable figure in the land.

As he grew older, he joined the militia group that his home town of Dunkarn Haven had formed and they were intrigued when, five years later, he proposed to mix magick with the mundane arts of sword and bow. Thus he formed the Night Blades, who started as five and are now twenty strong and who have openly allied themselves with the Bretic army in the coming conflict in the east with the Nords, offering to operate as spies and such.

Slow down, my friend, it's only been two hours :) Well, I've always wanted to join the Timeline, but didn't like the idea of "catching up". Thus, this seems like a good idea, and I'd be happy to join :D

However, I question why the Black Marsh has been included if it is not playable. Will it become so later, or what?

Other than that, all that's left is for me to pick a faction :goodjob: Though you might want to list specific faction guidelines, to avoid any confusion. Just a list of all the available factions; if for nothing else than my own sake :)

Also, I noticed that the Skyrim-Redoran-Daggerfall/High Rock conflict was all related, with the only odd man out being the Summerset Isles. Why include them at all? All the elves will do is attract RPers away from the larger conflict, into a smaller scale thing. I would think focusing in on Skyrim's wars would be better, if nothing else than to concentrate all the players into one general area. Also, what is Cyrodiil doing with all this? They are the main power in the continent, correct?

EDIT: I'll look into it, my esteemed friend, though I must say I don't think Dren meant any disrespect when he said that. He simply stated that he liked the idea of your Timeline, but found certain parts of it not to his liking. Will I insult someone I find eating McDonalds simply because I do not like the food there? No, but that wouldn't stop me from going to Arbys. Both are fast food, but one just has a slightly different menu; differences that make certain people like one place over the other.

I don't mind the fact that you're copying the RP format to an extent. These sort of things come and go every other week. But I don't see the point in bad mouthing and being disrespectful. If that's all you found in my RP I kindly suggest:

http://www.hookedonphonics.com/ProductDetail.aspx?Search=1096&ProductID=35738&ShowPopup=0&gclid=CJ78166m8p0CFYJx5QodA3sIxA

If after you've completed your studies you still find my RP not to your liking, that's all together fine and I won't hold it against you. But mind your manners. I don't see anything about "Hey look at my RP! I know it's pretty much copied but their RP pretty much svcks lawlz!" having much of a point.

I meant nothing of the sort. It's sad you took it that way. All I was saying was that after reading your rp, the direction it was heading wasn't the same route I wanted mine to follow.(Not that it was a bad route at all.) I'd just like this rp to be more political. I'd ask you not to insult my intelligence with your link and I would like you to remove it please. Clearly your work has inspired my own so it should humble you much more than offend you. I don't remembering cursing your rp, any members in it, or anything disrespectful at all.

@Darkom: I plan on adding Black Marsh as an active province, as well as Cyrodiil, as soon as the issues with Skyrim and the Summerset Isles are resolved. Skyrim isn't the main conflict of the rp, therefore letting the rper's explore it's terrain and things of that sort will give them a chance to go somewhere other than Cyrodiil or Morrowind. As for Cyrodiil, the events in Summerset Isles will draw them when certain events I can't mention yet call for the aid of the Empire. You are right on factions I need to list and restrict. I'll get on that right now.

I am disappointed at ImmortalBlood's opinion of my statement however. It's a bit demoralizing. I'll standfast by my statement though. Although the point I was trying to make rubbed you the wrong way, it still explains why I didn't just join your rp instead of creating my own. And as Darkom said, I hate catching up. That, and it's progressed much too far to feel comfortable.

Anyway, I hope this unwanted off-topic discussion hasn't discouraged anyone from joining the rp. Remember, it's still open to everyone.

Alright, I see what you mean. If the Isles serve a purpose within the plot than I don't see a problem, I just wanted to make sure. I'll make my character as soon as the faction list is up :goodjob:

EDIT: That is too bad that they didn't want to post themselves. Very few people here mean hateful things when they post, and it is usually a problem of misinterpretation. I have never had any reason to view you with anything but respect, don't let a few overly sensitive people ruin that ;) Not to insult them or anything, I'm sure it was an honest mistake on their part as well.

If you had no ill will with your statement, fine I retract mine. But to the several other people who have brought this up it seemed to all of us that there was an issue you wanted to bring forth. I don't even really look at other threads and I just mind my own business for the most part. For some reason or another several people thought that what you wrote was negative and instead of having them come post here I told them that i'd write instead.

I understand Immortal. Rumors are bothersome and misleading at best. If I had had an issue with your rp I would've PM'ed you personally. They clearly blew the statement out of proportion. There was no intention at besmirching the good name of ImmortalBlood. Trust me. Like Darkom I hold you, among only a few, in high respects. It's easy to say you're one of the greats here on the forums. The last of a dying breed of veterans. And I'm no kiss-ass if you really know the background Dren has on this forum as a Bitter Bierce. Furthermore, I apologize that you were mislead the way you were. Perhaps if certian people have issues or feel the urge to comment on something I've said, they'll PM themselves, hm? Good. Good luck with your RP Immortal. Hopefully I can see you around?

Dren

And to Darkom, I've updated the faction list twice. Hopefully it's to your liking.

:icecream:

I have two suggestions for you to consider. First if you want to keep going through with this RP you have to put things down to a smaller scale. The larger territory the RP encompasses the further spread your members are going to be, the less interaction there will be, the less writing there will be. Secondly, i'd take into consideration the "player pool" on this forum, how many people there are. My goal with the "timeline" was to grab as many people as possible so that the RP actually goes on and on instead of last a few weeks and then crash. I got tired of that. So for example even though my RP sees some days no posts at all and some days 10 posts, they're all well thought out large paragraphs that come at a fairly steady pace. This is due to organization.

The secret to running an RP has nothing to do with coming up with a great story. If you come up with a good story you're doing too much of the RPing for the writers. Your job is to simply create a play ground with goals and boundaries and make sure everyone is playing together.

If you want to try your RP alone taking into consideration the points above I hope you do well. But if you want to incorporate your ideas into the current Timeline RP i'd be more than willing to work with you to get your ideas into it in order to maintain the player pool focused. It's fine either way.

Thanks for the advice. I do indeed like the sound of working with the Timeline. However, I'm not sure my ideas would hold too much sway over your already decently seasoned members. They've been running with you for a decent time. I'd hate to barge in with ideas. Although I know it would be amazingly fun, I like the idea of controlling Tamriel myself. That and all the good provinces have been taken. However, should this rp fail could I possibly have a very small spot, one that wouldn't have to be too powerful, in your rp? I've never been too good with producing successful rps. I really hashed out the lore and did my research on this one so I'd at least like to stick around. If it succeeds then hooray! If not, I'd like to go down with the ship.

Name: Tom Min
Nickname: None
Race: Imperial
Age: 7
Gender: Male
Birthsign: The Shadow

General Appearance: Tom has two looks. That of a cute little child, and that of a beggar wretch. He can make himself look like either with enough time put into his costume.
Facial Appearance: That of a child. Puffy cheeks, a grin on his face, and a round nose
Eye Color: Brown
Hair color: Dark Brown
Scars/Tattoos: A small scar on his left bicep
Disfigurements: None
Misc: Can't use large weapons. (only shortbows, daggers, and rapiers/thin shortswords)

Personality: He is short, quick, and full of energy. He can use that pent up energy though to put on an act though and be serious and grown-up. (occasionally)
Aspirations: To become a high ranking thieves guild member
Hobbies: Drawing, (usually on walls and such where he shouldn't be) playing games, and practising his art

Class: Child Rouge
Class Description: Using their small size and childish charm, a child rouge can be a great, but annoying ally.
Skills:
Sneak (expert)
Security (apprentice)
speechcraft (novice)
Marksman (novice)
Short Blade (novice)

Faction: Thieves guild member
Province: Skyrim/Morrowind

Armor: Petty ring of shadows (7% chameleon) and basic clothing. (doesn't really wear armour)
Weapon(s): katar (basically a dagger. It's a punching dagger though! If not I'll go with a steel dagger though.)
Misc: Polished rocks (when being chased he can throw these in an attempt to trip people, when they're gone, they're gone though.)

Bio: Tom Grew up in vvardenfell. He traveled frequently as his master taught him everything he knew about sneaking around and such. When his master was killed though, Tom took a place in the thieves guild, and does everything his superiors tell him to do. Many members of the guild feel that even though he is talented at hiding and moving in the shadows, he is too young to take on serious jobs that would require him to be serious and plan out his work.

To members who've joined or are about to join. I'll be away for two days on drill. I'll be at Camp Dawson. Members will still be gladly accepted. Simply follow the character sheet template, PM me, and I'll approve them upon return. Two days should be plenty of time to organize yourselves and brew up a decent character. Thank-you!

Sounds good, I'll throw up a sheet tomorrow :goodjob:

I agree with Immortal Blood in the "player pool" respect. It's never a good idea to spread your players too thin. That's kind of what I was getting at with questioning the Summerset Isles.

Looks good :goodjob:

I have two as of right now. If Darkom and gatalis are still staying on the rp. Anyway, I'm home from Camp Dawson and I was expecting more interest in the rp. I'll have to wait it out I suppose.

Edit: I've decided to take ImmortalBlood's advice and close the Summerset Isles for the time being. Not because I'm worried of characters being too thinly spread, (As I mentioned above players were to have a minimum of two characters for this purpose) but because to start an rp with players trying to handle two events at once would be hard on their literary imagination. I'd hate for things to get too sloppy. I'll change Summerset to inactive for the time being.

At this point I'd like anyone wishing to join and readers alike, to refrain from posting anything other than approved character sheets. If you have questions please PM me. I don't want to take up anymore thread space. Thank-you.

He knows many secrets of Tamriel, most shall never find out. He has figured out formulas for spells so complex that they could alter reality in ways those around him cannot even begin to understand. He joined House Telvanni about three-hundred years ago, and is quite content on the council.

As a child he was naturally ambitious, always looking for something new to explore. One day he left home in search of new places, he left for the Summerset Isles. When he got there he studied with Sload on necromancy, when he left he had pledged himself to the arts some consider "evil." After he left the isles he travelled to Akavir for a decade, learning about the dragons, the snake-men, and all sorts of things. He views knowledge more valuable than all the septims in the world, and believes sharing it with others is like throwing away money.

After he left Akavir he went to Cyrodiil, before Talos reshaped it. He spent years reading from the imperial library, seeking anything having to do with magic, daedra, the undead, or even history. He began his study on the daedric princes in his second century, learning all he could on all of them, especially Haermaeus Mora. For years he tried to enter Mora's realm, but always failed, never succeeding, he gave up and stuck to the thing he did best, learning from the mortals. One of the view things that has evaded him is becoming a lich, but in time he will succeed...

Now he is in this political madness, he watched the Eternal Champion perform his quests, the Hero of Daggerfall, deliver the Numidian, the Nerevarine end Dagoth Ur's life, and the Champion of Cyrodiil fight off the daedra, now it would be his turn to be a hero... Or a villain...

By the way he isn't some immortal god of uberness, he has just led a very long life, and doesn't even use a lot of the spells he is capable of (believing they are too dangerous)

Only one problem Zalphon. You forgot to PM the character sheet to me. I'll accept it but remember it's always best to PM them first. Other than that it looks pretty good.

I would just like to mention, Winterhold is somewhat far from the border, perhaps you mean Windhelm?

Ah, this is correct. Now all I have to do is make Windhelm a Redoran friendly city as well. Haha.

Crap!

Time to edit!

Alright, Lord Dren.

What factions do you want? I can take some assassins, or a political role, whatever.

I have Zalphon and gatalis working more of the war/adventure side of the rp. I'd like some political figures in this as well. If you could produce a political character it would be appreciated. However remember the minimum is two characters. One for now and one for the remaining inactive provinces. I do plan to evetually work through each one.

Well Zalphon I've only seen you around the forums for a short time. I wasn't sure if you felt comfortable dealing with it. Almost everything about this rp is based off in-game, out-game, and UESP facts and lore that I've acquired in my four years playing Morrowind and a few years of Oblivion. If I think about it, you were nine when I started playing Morrowind. Hahaha. That's amusing. Anyway, if you'd like to rp your character on both adventure and political I won't refuse you. I'm going to make a politcal character as well.
