If Tamriel was a real place?

Post » Sun May 18, 2014 10:15 am

No way I'll be a farmer! Screwed up my back when I was a kid when we used to go up north to work the fields!

Going that it's my own version of Tamriel...

I'll got to Cyrodiil, to Chorrol! I just downright love that place, settle down, obviously get married to a Orc, and start my own store, maybe a bakery, perhaps a small stall or door to door local delivery. I know that I'll have a lot of books, probably do a little research on my freetime.

I doubt I'll worship anyone, but I know I'll have a little altar of Mara in the house.

Ah, well I still think I could handle Scandi weather. I'd be an innkeeper or shopkeeper though. "Some would call this junk. Me, I call them treasures."

You definitely would not want to be an Innkeeper :D Just imagine the dozens of drunk wasted Nords you have to deal with and clean up after.

I can handle that. Booze puke is better than fighting trolls out in the wilderness.

Better invest in some anti arrow leg armour.

I'd stay where I am and read about it and watch whatever tv shows there would be about it. I'm much safer where I live now and I can't load a previous save if I were to go there and get killed by bandits, trolls, etc. Not to mention I would literally crap my pants and cry if I ever saw a spider bigger than me.

It's also something most of us could figure out with some success, being modern people in a medieval setting. Any sort of militant profession would be beyond even most of the military personnel on the forums, as fighting with sword, spear, axe and bow are a hell of a lot different from rifle, basic hand to hand, and pitifult CQB training.

Were I to be in Tamriel, I'd settle in Cyrodil, one of the warmer secions, or possibly Hammerfel, and take up farming or construction. Being both literate and skilled in math, I could also be a serviceable scribe once I get the language down. No titanic heroism or such here. Though I am decent enough with a sword and shield that I could possibly fudge my way into joining the Legion or a force of town guards.

As for religion...I distrust gods. I'd lean towards being like Meridia and Azura for the Princes, and probably Mara and Kyne from the Nine.

I used to run a pub for students at University, the difference can't be that big. B) Besides, I could hire a couple of big BA bouncers to work for me.

Although they may be influenced by you Swedes, I highly doubt you guys are anywhere near as drunk as these Nords

Better make sure the bouncers don't get drunk as well especially if they are also Nords.

I see that you've never seen a bunch of engineers-to-be after an evening of drinking games. :P

You have a point about the bouncers though... Hmm. Maybe I could hire Marcurio and Teldryn Sero? :D

All I know is that if Morrowind was a real place that I'd stay the hell away.

I'd expect imminent confrontation. The world would be so foreign when compared to my own. I would definitely stay if I had a choice. Although not my favourite province, I would seek refuge in Cyrodiil because I would know my way around, and I know for a fact that most of the cities are relatively safe and friendly to all races.

I have poor social skills and poor labouring skills, so I would most certainly be a town eccentric. I'd worship some of the nine divines, (Mara, Akatosh) aswell as Azura and perhaps even Nocturnal. If I ever had the honour, I would also worship Sheogorath.

Oh if only....... maybe there's a Tamrielic afterlife for us TES freaks?

^ The cities aren't relatively safe anymore. Bandits were taking over whole towns in the game novels and Cicero's journals.

Hmm. Knowing that.... and presuming I get to choose which province I start out in. I would pick... hmmmmm.....

... Valenwood. I'd say Skyrim as I love the aesthetics. But I couldn't get along with their Darwinist thinking.

I say Valenwood because it's my favourite province, and the Wood Elves are slowly becoming a favourite race of mine. They are easily the friendliest race on Nirn.

A word of warning though, Valenwood may be beautiful but if you are scared of giant insects which can grow larger than horses then you might be in a bit of a predicament

A don't touch any plant life lest you want a barrage of arrows sticking out of your ass.

Damn. Is anywhere safe? Dx

Guess I'll leave Tamriel to Olfrid and Boris.

Still.. it would be a hell of alot better than England. With this additional information, I choose Skyrim. x)

I certainly would not like to live anywhere in Tamriel. War just about everywhere, poverty, corrupt governments? Not my cup of tea.

That said, if I went to visit, I'd go to Valenwood. I have a thing for giant trees.

I chose none of the above for the gods. I'm not sure who I'd worship, if any of them.

I wasn't exactly pleased with any of the options for occupation. I would have chosen to just be a generic townsperson, but I said farmer because it seems the most likely course of action. I'm honestly surprised how many people have chosen to be an adventurer/mercenary/someone who's job is to fight people. Getting into a life and death fight isn't all it's cracked up to be, you guys ;).

i'd live in cyrodiil worshipping the 9 while owning an inn and farm and being a good husband who is an adventurer at heart.

Yeah, Valenwood. Where that tickle on your nose as you sleep is a giant bug about to svck out your brain through your nostril.

I'm craven so I'd have to find someplace safe and calm. I guess I could've joined the mage guild, but eventually they'd probably want me to visit some haunted tomb for me to get myself killed in, so on second thought I'm not so sure anymore. Julianos sounds like a nice god, so I'd worship that one. I guess I'd reside in Cyrodiil too, because I'm not all too knowledgeable about the rest of the provinces.

Ah, my TES ignorance is becoming awfully evident, haha.
