Tamriel Worldspace Modding Project II

The guy did a super awesome job just using vanilla materials, but you're right that it seems to lack that special Summerset something. :banghead: Now I need to decide if I could even do it justice. IMO I think that no job is better than a bad job.

So do you still want a mesh? I'm going to need some concept art.

hey :-)

first of all ...if everything goes well the updated Hammerfell High Rock map will be uploaded by the end of this week. The esp will be renamed to (as stated before) "Hammerfell_HighRock.esp". As there is a Hammerfell esp out already (Brendans Hammerfell mod ?). This should avoid confusion when using boss for setting a proper load order.

changelog :

all land tears have been fixed
generated pathgrids for Hammerfell ( nearly complete) and most of the Skyrim part
generated a fully detailed (basic) region for Skyrim...more different regions will come with the eastern part of Skyrim ( as it seems we will be able to use some of the presets created by the former Skyrim team :-))
removed the tress from the Hammerfell Goldmoor coast and improved most of the regions generally

@Kiwi Hawk

this exactly the way...as I said before you can simply copy any other map for cyrodiil and Ilianas Elsweyr into your map cause these parts haven't been touched by me. Of course the eastern part of Skyrim and complete Morrowind are still missing...for completing your map you will have to wait for them...

regards and thx for working on this

@ Mathalter

I had a closer look on these stuff (Summerset improved) and it is not really usable...better to start from the scratch...also I agree with Omegacron..if Ayleid stuff is used (like I did for Firsthold) it should be retextured (shining bright white) and not looks like a ruin...

@ Sacred Symbiote

yep always esmifying when working with the CS and always espifying when testing ingame ( goes really fast using wrye bash:-))

if you are going to work on North Hall you can think about creating a road connecting it with Alis Elinhir ...Elinhir could then be connected with Falkreath and Omegacrons Ravensgate

North Hall could be connected later on with the main road at the coast...

@ Omegacron

will add Falkreath to the wip mods when updating the first post next time :-)

thx everybody :-)

Aloha!

Started working on the landscape/cityscape again today. I spend the last few days on making some unique creatures for Senchal's jungle and dungeons. It is great fun and I will make a few more in the near future.

The ogre/cyclops textures are based on TheMythOfStrider's wonderfull hi-res creature textures, though they have been heavily modified. Those that looked through my TESA gallery (probably no-one! :celebration: ) may have seen some nasty looking undead types which will be in the mod as well. A few examples of the recent new creatures, the names are working titles so they may change:

How soon will we start collaborating on this? Most of our Redwood forests were hand detailed, so in lieu of that I'm going to have to start building a new region preset.

I do have a wonderful Aspen forest pre set that I'd like to use in the 'Reach' though.

hey :-)

if everything goes well, I will upload the updated Hammerfell High Rock map this weekend, so that people can build their mods on a proper masterfile....then I will start working on the last map again...should not take not that long to finish the Morrowind /Skyrim map....

@Strupekutter and Modman: thanks! Some of the creatures will be made available as a resource btw.

I'm slowly transforming Senchal's surrounding area to match Onra's jungle landscape, should be a nice view when using a sailing mod to see some jungly cliffs. Further inland the jungle will become more dense.

OK, I'm going to get around to importing those rocks then, and building the new region. Also I think I'll also regenerate the normal maps on the textures I sent you, they don't have mipmaps, and some of the normals are too intense. Lately I've been cleaning up the old master, and converted it over to an esp last night. Also put some stuff together for a new architecture set, and imported a ton of loot; the loot lists I'm setting up for Skyrim will add in 6 new suits of light and 6 new heavy armor, progressively increasing in quality, comparable to the Fur -> Glass and Iron -> Daedric progression in vanilla.

Regarding your heightmaps, is there any flat land around approximately around the eastern area of this http://img61.imageshack.us/img61/5751/promskyrimmap8no.jpg? Obviously the shape is different somewhat, its a very old morrowind era map, but it was the only thing that I could find with the Reach labeled. Anything in that approximate eastern area works, could be around Haafinheim or Falcrentheim. Like I said that's where I wanted to put my aspens. In lore it is a flat temperate area populated by Breton and Nord farmers. I don't have any real plans to build there, but all the same I'd like to slap a nice region down to break up the snow a bit

Also are there any stretches of flat land along the Northern coast suitable for Tundra, mostly just flat land with grass/snow and lots of rocks?

Also how big is the Throat of the World? Its Skyrims equivalent of Red Mountain (non-active), tallest mountain in Tamriel, marked as the tallest point next to Whiterun on this http://api.ning.com/files/uOQJGx8exF9-R6ugyp4PJYRIf92sHLi-Q7kygQ1NG98I8zKw5GXM-4sVa4b0DUyPMdO1*FW81v0Y1LHnw6hJ3nl8Yr1SpDSs/TamrielMap.jpg

@ Omegacron: Have you picked an architecture set for Falkreath yet? If you're just sticking to Bruma or that Nord tileset I linked you I have some retextures that you might be able to use for the city.

I found a really detailed map of Tamriel on the Imperial Library.

http://www.imperial-library.info/maps/cyrodiillargelowrescr7.jpg

I don't know if this matches the landscapes that are already out but it might.

Edit: Oops I'm stupid I didn't see the one that was already being worked on

I was planning on mostly Bruma and Nordic buildings, although I have a few other meshes I planned on retexturing to have that same "lincoln logs" look. Ravenholme will probably be 90% Bruma stuff, since it's still in Cyrodiil, but there will definitely be a heavy Nord influence there. But regardless of whether I use them or not, definitely definitely send me any resources you have. I collect them - you should see my library of modders resources lol! Every time I come across something I might even conceivably possibly use at some point in the future, I save it. And I definitely want to do my part to make this project add variety to Tamriel, so I probably will use anything I can get away with :P .

Just a little FYI: I probably won't mod the Summerset Isles. I'm not the most creative person, and I think I would mess the place up royally. Besides, I don't wanna be there when the brown stuff hits the fan for it not being "lore-correct"

Sweet thanks! And when I was talking about the Reach, I mispoke and meant west (you can see it next to HR on the map). Obviously its a little much to ask you to go back and edit the already released map, but I was curious if there were any pre-existing spots that could accomodate it (in the west)?

What's this about a road :P Where abouts is north point?? I can give you co-ordinates of the front gate of Elinhir if you like, but I won't be making any sort of road for a good few months, probably will be one of the last things I do before a beta release, which is probably going to take longer than Christmas.

I'm sure that editing the map wouldn't be a problem for your awesome work, especially seeing as that region is probably almost entirelly untouched by other modders :D

But obviously it's Onra's decision, but I'm sure something could be worked out :P

North Point is northwest of Chorrol across the border and south-southwest of Elinhir in Hammerfell. Theres a settlement called Stonemoors between the two that I would also like to include in the work with North Point. Coordinates for the front gate of Elinhir would be most welcome! I can use that to plan the location for Stonemoors/North Point. It sounds at this point as if I'll be done before you seeing as mine includes only two small settlements. My plan is to have to crossroads run directly through the center of North Point so I can just map the roads out as far as the edge of the city and leave the roads in the wilderness up to someone with more expertise in making such things. That would also minimize conflicts. Increased compatibility and no conflicts sounds like the right choice to me. Can you send me the coordinates for the front gate of Elinhir Ali?

A little world building in the CS today, couldn't resist teasing you guys with something http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c23/qio/ScreenShot4-1.jpg?t=1275627133. Just remember it will look 10X more awesome with onra's mountains in the background. Also here is a http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c23/qio/ScreenShot96.jpg?t=1275627394 of an old Nord Warrior in the Aspen Wood preset I was talking about.

I have retextured Chorrol and Cheydinhal homes with the Lincoln log look, some are indistinguishable from Bruma architecture and fit perfectly, others (most of the Cheydinhal homes) have bizzarre UV map issues that make the logs look like they are on acid. What will be of most value to you is this http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c23/qio/ScreenShot8-1.jpg?t=1275627421. It has a lot of versatility, and easily meshes with existing homes.

@ Onra: Looking through my old files, I found this city I designed for Jaga Telesin years ago.

http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c23/qio/ScreenShot20.jpg?t=1275627632
http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c23/qio/ScreenShot7.jpg?t=1275627791
http://s24.photobucket.com/albums/c23/qio/?action=view¤t=ScreenShot6.jpg
http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c23/qio/ScreenShot14.jpg?t=1275627857
http://i24.photobucket.com/albums/c23/qio/Camlorn01.jpg?t=1275627909

From what I know, it could quite easily pass as Camlorn. Its strictly an exterior, but makes a nice base for future modders, or just something fun to explore. Any interest in including it in a later release of the High Rock map?

@seigfried

I have finished now replacing the Skyrim Lod region preset by a fully detailed region one (based on the Jerall mountain presets). During testing I found a lot of flat areas ( valleys) in the western part where we could nicely place your Aspen woods regions....but better have a look yourself when the update is released.

the city exteriors are looking very good...the High Rock region presets will come in an extra esp anyway...similar to the Valenwood_Aneuina patch . So should be no problem to integrate it :-)

cheers

I did a bit of Tootooing over the last few days,.. I'm maybe not a modders back pockets so not sure how good this is
but a swiped the city out of land of the Altmer and retextured it to see what I could do.

I slapped some rocks under it and added a bit of stuff I had made, not sure if it's what your looking for but if somebody
skiled wants it to chop and channel or jus wnats the resource I'm happy to zip it up and try find a play to put it for tham
to grab. theres a few night shots of it here, I'll get some day time one tomorrow, if it's not what your looking for thats ok too
