Tap Water, Do You Drink From The Tap

Do you drink from the tap?

I would always boil it first to get rid of the tap water taste (if that makes sense), even though the water came purified from the pump.

Where do you live??

I grew up in the Canadian country side, and my tap water came from a private well. Despite it being untreated by a "city system", I never worried. (best tasting water ever)

I've lived in many cities since, and never worried about the tap water. You do realize they monitor and evaluate the water constantly, right?
They are not going to let people drink water that isn't safe.

If your water tastes like "tap" you probably just have stale water in your pipes. Let it run until it's very cold, like 15 seconds, and it will taste better.
i thought things like this were common sense, but I guess water is different in other places.

That taste is from the chlorine that's used. Just put some tap water in the fridge for awhile and that will all evaporate away, leaving only pure water. And you'll end up with it nice and cold as well, with a lot less work.

I used to drink from the tap for the most part. Where we used to live the water was really good and actually tasted a lot better (I thought) than anything bottled anyway.

Then we moved out of the city to where we are now, and the water was a lot worse. As in it left spots over everything, rusted the toilets and showers, etc. So then we started drinking from a Brita filter. It was really so bad that we'd use water from the Brita to cook with. I wouldn't even boil water for pasta from the tap. It just tasted really bad.

We did recently get a really nice water filtration system about a month ago now, and it's been tons better. Not only do things I clean around the house with water actually get clean and not leave a film, but we also have an extra faucet we put onto our sink that's hooked up to another filter. So our drinking water from our extra tap is just about as clean as you can get, now.

Yea, always fill up some gallons and shove them to the freezer for a few hours then back to the fridge.

Yep. If I'm not mistaken Chicago and it's suburbs has the cleanest tap in the country.

It completely depends on where you live. There are definitely places in the USA that has tap water that tastes vile, and others where it tastes okay.
