Nvm I didn't see the edit, I didn't know you would be able to view locked items before you unlock. Unless there's something that blocks seeing them then that's stupid.

I don't know if you can view the item on your character if it's locked, but you can see a "lock icon" next to the names of locked items, like in the image below

so even if you can't actually view it, you would still know if a tattoo was locked or not and it would be up to you to wait until it's unlocked or apply something else.

In reality, I don't ever plan on getting or wanting tattoos. In video games, I don't really care since its not my physical body.

Permanent tattoos I can live with as long as I can see all the tattoos at the beginning, that way I know which tatts I want and can hold off until I have unlocked them. Looking at the screen shot posted by "Capt. Awesome Man" my guess would be that we will be able to see all opitions at the very begining, just not being able to use them till they are unlocked... guessing of course and also hoping.

afaik, tatts are available for multiple body locations including forearms, upper arm, upper and lower leg, face and possibly multiple chest and back areas, and you can't be badass without a neck tatt

in the customization video Paul even mentions he "just unlocked" the elsavadorian tattoo so guessing yeah some become unlocked

Well, you used to be able to. A very recent update changed that - no XP transfering anymore.

Also, it's not 16 max characters. Now it's just 10.

Then since Tats are permanent do we get them all at the beginning or do we also unlock them so we have to make another char to use that tat? Because I think that would be stupid if we unlock them and have to make another char to use it.

and you should also read interviews and not only watch videos. It does say tats are permanent in the interviews.

Dude, this is THE number one source for anything you need to know about BRINK. All that information is double and tripple backed and collected by one of the most insane BRINK geeks around.

All the videos around the net, however, are outdated and don't show the current status of the game. Also most of them show things for show - like a trailer usually doesn't display what is actually possible in a game.

It's really a list of information about BRINK. We don't know everything about brink, since it is over a month away but that is still a good bit of info. Also, calling Horses stuff stupid will get you flamed in here so fast you won't be able to blink. Tread lightly.

I know there is 1 for sure but it's a pre-order tat. A few are actual gang/mafia/cartel tats though.

Tats are permanent. Yes you can change them when you first make the character, but once your done you can't.
