It's offline/online Campaign 8v8. It has different main and side objectives for each mission, on both factions. Also a Stopwatch mode.

Team deathmatch just doesn't fit in the system, because the classes are made for objective based gameplay.

Now that you mention it, I could see TDM turning into nothing but medic chains. Or having a ton of engis turtle together. The lack of an objective or objective site would really make the classes unbalenced.

They won't gather much XP and their team probabaly gets slaughtered.

From what I've heard, the game is meant to be an objective based story element. It'n not meant to be like COD multiplayer in which you pick your game type and play that. You play it like an objective depending on the level. And by the way, I have nothing against COD, its just not nearly as good as like Unreal Tourney and stuff.

To me, COD plays like a game that tried to mix the fast paced gameplay of an Arena shooter like Quake 3 or UT, with the weapons, tactics and damage scales of a modern combat shooter - needless to say, it failed miserably.

Having game modes where the focal point of play is getting kills, will never go away, but as for the direction of the genre, we are seeing point systems becoming more robust and rewarding. This is the direction we're headed in, and I'd like to see games progress in this fashion.

I would even go as far to say the classes are build around the objective based gameplay.

As others said, a TDM mode would make the class system unbalanced. Just like pre-arena mode TF2 (and before all those horrid game breaking updates).

I get the feeling the classes and objectives were built around each other, you know someone says in the studio 'wouldn't be be great if you could interrogate people?' and another says 'that could be an objective too'

This is starting to sound a lot like Monday Night Combat. No team deathmatch, only objectives........I like killing more than defending/capturing........

Well you might be in the wrong game. Plenty of killing besides doing objectives and defending.

When I say killing I mean only focusing on the enemy withough scarificing the victory......

Technically speaking, it was a huge success (it sold). But I get what you're saying.

Too bad. I love objective-based gaming, but there's nothing wrong with wanting to frag the other team into oblivion.
