Team Turrents

Post » Wed Mar 09, 2011 3:42 am

In brink, as you know, the two factions have a different colour scheme and different looking clothes. This was dont to make it easier to determine if the guy your aiming at it friend or foe. It will help stop friendly fire from confusions. We also know that friendly fire can be turned on in this game.

My questions are :
Do turrets have different skins for each faction? maybe the resistance one is roughly made and uses different metals, while the security one is more clean cut.
Does friendly fire apply to turrets aswell?

EDIT: Typos, sorry about the title.

I'd imagine Security turrets look brand new and streamlined (I'm thinking Portal sentry turrets) and Resistance turrets look rusty, patched-up, and clunky.

Weapons of the Security are clean and well maintained. Weapons of the Resistance are worn out and rusty.
The turrets will most likely follow the same pattern.

As for friendly fire: Turrets will definately not open fire on friendlies; however, if FF is enabled, I guess you shouldn't cross their line of fire.

Sorry, i wasn't clear with my 2nd question. I meant does FF apply to your own turrents, so if your shoot a friendly turrent it will take damage.

Yes it does.

In http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uiGtViRV-9U the player first shoots his turret, then repairs it.

  :ninja:
Truer words have never been spoken.

The really scary thing though is kindergarteners, first and second graders with cell phones. And they aren't just having them, they're using them. If they're texting while learning how to write, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OonDPGwAyfQ? (Warning, explicit/crude humor.)

Turrets, you mean, lol? :D

If the devs took the time to make the http://www.splashdamage.com/forums/showthread.php?t=23605,
then I guess they would take the time to do the same with the turrets. At least, I hope so. :)

Yup. It's sooooo true.
I have worked with elementary students, especially second graders. There were several girls with cell phones and actually using them (and credit cards with a bit of money, too).
Yet, they cannot do their extremely easy spelling or math homework (and/or even concentrate on it anyway), what. in. the. world, lol.

I remember when massive bursts of no concetration was called ADHD. Now it's commonplace. :shakehead:

I blame the ever advancing (and ever draining) works in "social networking" (which, according to several studies, are actually draining people of thier social abilities.)

So I guess the Resistance turrets look like TF2 ones? :P

After watching that video... I have to agree, I usually do my best to avoid errors, but I've seen essays from some of my fellow students, and good lord I usually thought that they needed an immediate basic grammar class.

I may not be a top hat in grammar rules or sentence construction, but I least my work is legible without sounding that I wrote it with my foot.

Lol some people shoot friendly s just to make sure people around them are not Operatives. So that doesn't apply all the time.
