While searching, I got to thinking- what were the developers thinking when they built this infernal quest? Basically every other quest in the game pinpoints on your map exactly where every single quest related thing is. Except for this quest! Probably one of the only times I would want something pinpointed on my map! They put a marker on your map for a lot of silly things, but not for several, small, camouflaged items.
To make matters worse, you get frost damage pretty consistently while you're searching. To even further compound my issues with this quest, I'm playing as an Altmer, which makes it worse in two ways:
-I'm naturally weaker to frost damage than other races, and
-I'm higher up than most races, making it difficult to search through the bushes and under the curved rocks.
Basically, I just don't understand why Bethesda did it this way. I do hope it's not intentional annoyance, and if it's not, it's pretty careless. Disappointing...
I also don't have a hardsave right outside the Glade, and the last autosave would be entering the Glade. Am I screwed? Or just not looking hard enough?
I looked on the UESP, went exactly where the Tears are supposed to be located, and no dice. I didn't use any area effect spells when dispatching the guardian.
