Try the following
Spoiler

0. Make sure TotF.esp is last in load order.
1. Load your saved game.
2. Call console (~), type
message "%0.f" ZZTheLegacy2.AlleciaWantsToTalk
press
3. There'll be a number in top left corner of the screen. If it's 1 (as I suppose it to be), follow next steps of the instructions. Otherwise tell me.
4. You should still be in the console (otherwise enter it), so type
set ZZTheLegacy2.Dialogue4 to 1
press , type
set AlleciaDialogueCounter to 4
press again
5. Talk to Allecia now. She will tell one of her previous dialogues. Though since you were using an old version, this dialogue may be new for you. Anyway, keep in mind that this discussion should have occured before you finished The Legacy, so don't be surprised if she says something weird.
At the end of that dialogue everything should turn alright, quest variables and conditions and everything, and next time you address her she should have normal companion options.

The message returned from the first command was zero, not one. However (since I LOVE to self-medicate, and backup my saves; if that was a big, bad thing to do, no harm was done), I used the console to set it to 1. Proceeding from there, I followed your instructions, but when I set the DialogueCounter variable to 4, the game told me that there was no known variable as "AlleciaDialogueCounter." I exited the console and went ahead and talked to her anyway, and she said something about things racing toward a cataclysmic conclusion and that we should spill the beans, and that she'll answer any more of my questions. No dialogue options came up, so I left dialogue, and when I spoke to her again (immediately afterwards), she gave me that I HAVE NO GREETING nonsense again. As I said, if any of that is my fault, I was careful to save before I blazed ahead and set the first variable to 1, so it's all good. I hope :P

also I am quite wierd for liking both. but
I run fcom, which was probably a 100 percent
of the problem, and I take any kind of help I
can. :P

the Redemption portion of the mod and reading the journal, all I want to do is see Alicia die horribly, and yet I accepted her as a companion and even went to great lengths earlier to do so. Well, this mod sure was well written, because it instigated within me powerful emotions, always the hallmark of a good mod. Now on to the rest of it.

When I checked the QuestProgression thingy, it returned a value of 10! So, as per your instructions, I set it to 65. I then talked to her, and everything seems to be in order. I get "Wait here," "Show me your equipment," and "Goodbye," so I guess everything checks out. The AlleciaWantsToTalk thing is still 0; I checked out of curiosity since you said it should be 1 in your earlier post. But, if that's not an issue, everything seems to be honky-dory. Thank you so much for your help!

Not it looks more clear... though I don't remember fixing that particular problem.
If you want a "crash-test",

read the "Ehothorn Family Tree" book again
(that's what dropped the variable value in the first place). Then talk to Allecia again. Theoretically, everything should be fine as you're now using the last version. Practically you can see. If it comes out not fine it will warrant kicking myself and working on a fix.

First off, thanks for making this amazing mod. By far one of the best I have played.

Now to my problem :)

I have gotten as far as ridding Cleon of his demon and telling him the truth of "my" story and he has asked me to leave Allecia behind. From the guide I know that I am to wait or rest a few times to get Cleon and Allecia to argue but it never seems to happen. I have tried waiting in different intervals for a week solid (game time of course) and I have gone back to a saved game before escorting Cleon back to his grave site and played through that section again with the same results.
Any idea what could be causing this or has anyone else ran into this issue?

Yes, I was able to figure that out with the advice you gave on the other board. I thought I gave ample time and I was very close to getting the message, I was simply reading the guide too literally and thought the message occurred right after or during a resting period.

wanting Alicia to die, I have her and Cleon both with me and we are a trio of bosom buddies. :goodjob: Now I just need to figure out how to get the Chapter XII Redemption Afterward. I assume that it is related to Ruined Tail somehow, but hell if I can find him anywhere. Based on everything I learned while playing the game, I am inclined to think that he is near Cheydinhal somewhere, but I am just not finding him. I took the hints from the Abyss of the Faithless and the tattered journal to mean that I could somehow save Ruin before he actually dies in real time. Can you tell me if I am right about that at least
?

I am curious about that prison at the excavation site. I haven't had to make use of that for any reason, nor have I found any key that could unlock it. Did I do something wrong while playing the mod

You're right about Ruin, but wrong about Cheydinhal (Ruin hinted where...).
Regarding the prison, it's for a particularly wicked variant of events. You can read about it in the guide (an episode called "evil recovery"). After you get your redemption, I suppose (cause the guide, as any walkthrough, is full of spoilers)

Hello,

Thank you for all your work on this mod, I appreciate it. I started this mod on my previous playthough and it was working fine. I recently reinstalled and re-created a character and this time ran into a problem that I was hoping someone might know the answer. When Edward Pellegew (think that is his name) attacks me on my first night sleeping, he swings his sword once and then stops and stands there. I can talk to him, but he has no dialogue buttons and when I swing at him he just deflects it and acts like when I attack a friendly NPC. Anyone know what might be causing this? I am staying at the inn outside IC, I am going to try a different Inn when I load the game up tomorrow. Below is my load order, I use alot of mods and run BOSS to sort them.

First off I just want to say I've been playing this mod for the first time (I just recently started playing Oblivion again) and this is the best mod I think I've ever played for any game. :D The story is great and engaging.

I'm running into a problem in The Redemption section after

you talk to your Duplicate in his cave hideout in the Abyss. Everything works fine until the sequence ends and Cleon teleports you out of the Abyss. I think you're supposed to be teleported into another dream sequence
but instead me and Cleon end up floating in a gray blank space, raining, with a single red light off in the distance. Both of us are continuously falling. I've read the journal and gotten the prompts and everything and nothing seems to happen. I disabled every other mod I have running except Ren's Beauty Pack and Elaborate Eyes (the game crashes if I disable those and try to run my save) and it still happens. Anyone know what's going on?

Do you miss anything by just COC'ing out of there?

I presume what happens is a "broken moveto", because the command is triggered from the dialogue and it appears that it sometimes causes glitches ("sometimes", when it comes to Oblivion, means the bugtesting team doesn't get it in the tests, but some players run into it). Thus, using coc shouldn't break anything. However, I'd suggest later returning to the place

God, it's always good to see a thread about Tears of the Fiend. You two have made, in my humble opinion, one of the best mods for a game to date. It's kinda sad that your storyline is actually better than the Oblivion storyline, in all respects. Looking forward as always to your new stuff when it comes out! (Here's hoping for the next part of Malevolent :) )

lettuceman44 - Eventually... in the LOOOOONG term... Assuming nothing drives me off modding (again.)

Right now my list of projects is:

1. The Instigator (30% complete)
2. Malevolent Part 2
3. The Fiend Saga (the merging of my 3 MODs).

Trust me, it's a lot longer list in practice than it is in appearance.

Its a huge list, once you get down to the details...

for the uninitiated to sims and arilitas modesty I will briefly explain the list.

1) Groundbreaking quest mod with emotional depth and hugh amount of dialogue similar to main quest all of its own.
2) Just Finish off another epic quest mod that examined the evil in ones own soul
3) merge ridiciculous amounts of quests and dialogue to a uber quest that puts all other quest mods to shame.

all in a days work eh sim :D
