Ted Williams was a homeless man in Ohio, until http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6rPFvLUWkzs video was taken about 2 days ago and has now went viral. He has been contacted by numerous companies. The most prominent one being the Cleveland Cavaliers.

I saw this before my lax practice. I just didn't get to hear his voice. My mouth dropped in astonishment! I hope this guy can live the rest of his life happy!

Edit: I would capitalize the "l" in lax...

Wow. Fast turnaround. The man who originally filmed the video deserves a big pat on the back for helping this guy out.

As someone who's been down in the dumps before, and who's known lots of people in the same situation, when you finally hit bottom and have nowhere else to go, the only place left to go is up. That said, I sincerely hope that he can keep it together, it is far easier to fall down than it is to get back up, and not everybody gets a second or third chance the way Mr. Williams has.

Yeah I heard he got that job with the Cavaliers. And that they also bought him a house. It's amazing what the internet can do for you these days haha.

"This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by The Dispatch."

Seems like he has sold his video to someone.

Youtube is really annoying me lately with these "copyright claims". It annoys me slightly me more because I watch too many Rock Band/Guitar Hero FC's.

The Dispatch is the Columbus Dispatch, a local newspaper. In all likelihood it is they who hold the copyrights to the video, not Ted Williams.

I'm sure that he holds the rights to tell his story from here on out, and there most likely will be a life story to be told about Mr Williams' life. He is surely to make a boatload of money from telling his story, not to mention the job offers he gets (has gotten). He will need some good people by his side to help keep him on the straight and narrow. It is far easier to fall down than it is to get back up and live life on life's terms.

You are entitled to your opinion, but based on your statement, are you saying that because someone (anyone) makes some bad choices in life that they are no longer entitled to a second chance to make things right? Sorry, but I just can't accept that. If that were the case, then I never would've had the chance to make things right in my life. I've made alot of bad decisions much the same way that Mr. Williams did.

I was given a second chance to make things right (thanks to my employer for not giving up on me). I am a far better person than I was 5 years ago when I was at my worst. I've been clean and sober for five years now. (thanks to a second chance)

You can learn alot from people who have been down in the dumps.Personally I have alot of respect for him. Not for what he may have done in his past, but for the fact that he is trying to make a better future for himself.

You could stand to be a little more understanding of people, and the problems that they face, and that they do not always deal with these problems in the best manner possible. Realising our mistakes and attempting to correct them is more than worthy of a second chance at life. That appears to be more than you are willing to give. It's ashame really.

Good for the fellow that fortune has smiled on him. He has a lovely voice.
As for his state of homelessness being debatable, as Howard Stern suggested, I don't know.
Not the first time journalism has embellished a story. Really, though, It's neither here nor there, not enough good things happening lately,
So I'll go with "YAY for him" , because it gives me hope in humanity.
