Teen or elderly character

Post » Tue Jul 12, 2011 2:23 am

Have you ever created a character that appeared to be very old or very young?

Would you want to be able to do that in Skyrim

Not just "light or heavy"

But a complex system so that you can be waif thin or hunched over

How about crazy wizard long beards or hair for elderly characters?

How young do you think you could make a character look without getting in to the child thing?

Yes, young, because I am young.

I always try to make the character look as similar to me (if playing human or elf) including their age, or at least tried to in Oblivion.

In Skyrim I will make a Nord and he will be early 20's. I will be 24 when Skyrim is released.

Usually create characters between 30-40 years old in the prime of their life, a little younger than me

I usually have my characters (both video-game and table-top) be anywhere 20-45, which is what I'd consider the prime of life and most up to the challenges and hardships of continued adventure.

My first character will be an Old Dunmer man who was in Morrowind during the Red Year, so yeah I hope I can make him look old.(Not too old though, he's still an Dark Elf after all. :P)

Yes old...because I'm old(er).
I always turned the age slider all the way up in Oblivion. In Fallout, you don't have much of a choice so I used a http://www.flickr.com/photos/25411109@N05/3332382027/in/photostream.

I'll be the crustiest old Nord the game can render on my first playthrough.

Not anyone much younger than myself. Similarly i have never created a character that was very old. I am 26 and my characters tend to be around the same age though there is exceptions but they are never "much" younger nor older than myself.

My characters are always around their late twenties or early thirties. I'd rather have my character's in their athletic prime, than stupidly old or young.

He was a very powerful Mage though, we have reason to believe his live was prolonged with powerful magic.
Normal Dunmer can get around 200 years old, Noble families live longer and Mages are a whole different story. :P

Definitely not a teenager. This isn't Final Fantasy.

Elderly is fine though, they make the best wizards. The light/heavy slider and beards will make for some interesting looking characters. Imagine a scrawny old man with a gray beard swinging a giant axe around. Or a big dumb looking Nord with a little dagger.

Yes, I often play a weary old man who is dragged back into a life of adventure, kicking and screaming most of the time.

What do you mean "was?" The Fyr-man ain't gonna let a little localized apocalypse cramp his style. I'm sure he's still doing fine and chilling with his harem of disturbingly semi-incistuous daughter/clone/wives.

He was a very powerful Mage though, we have reason to believe his live was prolonged with powerful magic.

"Normal" meaning city-dwellers and the like. Hard laborers tend not to break 100. That guy at Raven Rock who wanted to die was in his eighties, if I recall the dialogue correctly.

I like the idea of total age and weight control in Skyrim

You know , at 1st I thought it'd be funny enough to have a gay Orc on Catman marriage in the game

But what if I could have a really fat 18 year old guy character married to a 92 year old yet somehow ripped 6 pack man wizard w/ an epic beard? HAHA!

Age differences plus race differences plus gay marriage in the game is just a whole world of hilarious relationship opportunities for the game

By the way , CAN we actually adjust height/weight/age or is this just something we are debating at the moment?

Young advlt-middleage fits better than having a tween doing all the killing and what not and not actualy having the experience age bring. Also old geezer doing all this seems I duno a little off... "hold on I think I broke my hip!"

What strikes me as odd is the fact that you can make a Very Old Character and he runs around like a 25 Year Old. :P

I don't think we are gonna be able to create the appearance for the one we marry.

Most of my characters have been young advlts, 20-25 years old, and some over 30, but so far I haven't made any characters seemingly older than 40 years.

I'm probably going to keep it that way in Skyrim too, and I'm pretty sure my first character's gonna be a young man in his early twenties. But we'll see. :]

And marry a 46 year old man-Orc right? HAHA

Well sure we can't , but surely one could make their character a young man and then seek out an old man NPC , or make their character an Orc and seek out a Cat man NPC , and so forth... I hope

I seriously think this is the high point of the game , to turn it into a relationship oriented comedy lol
