Telekensis

Now, i was wondering if when you threw items if they do damage this time around. Also can you pick up somthing bigger then a small item, lets say a body, and hurl the body at his friends knocking them down or hurting them?. I searched but couldent find anything.

Sorry if allready posted/awnsered, its really the only thing i'm worried about.

Never been in an ES game, and I never really thought about it.

We've never had anything of this sort but I'd enjoy it.
The most you could do with TK was just pick up items and take them.

Now since the magic system is "borrowed" from bioshock i hope its a little like that. Maby a little more "punchy" so to say. The physics in this game are fun looking too, so i am really hoping that it is made more, dare i say, fun.

I'm hoping for something like this. Telekinesis has been so useless before, I'm hoping for some combat applications of it this time around. I'm planning to make my Dunmer a sort of Psychic Assassin with Alteration for force stuff and the shield spell, Conjuration for the cool new bound items, and Illusion for all the mind-affecting spells.

We already know that Telekinesis is in the game and I can't imagine that they wouldn't just blatantly rip off Dark Messiah and Bioshock because frankly there's no reason not to. It's cool.

Well It's more of just the fact that magic has to be equipped rather than just used.
Thats the only bioshock comparison I can think of. But as cool as using TK in combat would be
I don't see it happening. It'd be a cool feature and a big change so we'd probably have heard about it by now

Right. They were not the first games to come up with this. And i hate to tell you, but the magic system is heavily based from bioshock.

How so? Although the hand animations are similar which Todd even mentioned to Levine.
The magic is totally different. influenced? Yes. Based off? No way. The spells are Elder Scrolls. The Effects are Elder Scrolls.

Unless Im missing the newly confirmed "shoot swarm of bees from your hand" spell

Reminds me of Bioshock (1&2)
If the combat system is somewhat like that, I won't be disappointed as I enjoyed both Bioshocks 3+ times. Finally on the hardest modes recently

Meant the new way magic works, sorry. Not the magic itself.

Wow, so I never really thought about this. I mean, I did think about it when using it in Oblivion and wishing I could smash someone in the face with whatever I was holding 20 feet away from me.

Anyways I think the obvious answer to this thread is thus:

They're not doing thrown weapons, why would they do this?

I have this image of throwing someone off a cliff and then looking down and realizing all his loot is now at the bottom of the cliff.

Isn't Half-Life one who did that telekinetic stuff first via his Gravity Gun? >_>

OT:
I really hope that Telekinesis can be used in battle (it's something which was bothering me for long time and I was even thinking of making a thread about it).
I think it's about time they make it possible.

Its not "Borrowed" that like saying just cause they got inspiration from Apple that there menu was borrowed. They said they liked how bio shock handled it and wanted to set it up like that. Trust me tho, its not the same.

Here is a pretty good idea, use telekinesis and grab an object than Fus Ro Dah it at the enemy.

Infamous 2 had a really good system of picking things up and then hurling the item at whatever person you wanted to destroy.

well there was one in morrowind but it didnt really do anything. and there was remote menipulation in oblivion but it only worked on small items.
A real telekinesis spell would be awsome

Of course not, everyone knows that Halo invented telekinesis. Though he stole his robot suit from Metroid. (Metroid's girlfriend is pretty hot, though, just not as hot as Zelda's girlfriend.)

I would love if we could use telekinesis to catch arrows flying towards us. I mean this system was inspired by Bioshock.
